Will forever struggle to forgive him for that late opportunity to grab top 4 when he blazed over the bar against Chelski. His vital late miss at Stamford Bridge a few days after the FA Cup final win will always alas stay with me - and it pretty much summed up his time with us.

 

Frustrating. One step forward, two steps back.

 

He had his moments, but never once went on a consistent run of form.

 

Then again he was not a winger, as Rodgers foolishly seemed to insist he was. Much more comfortable in the centre, where his lack of pace and poor ball protection were less magnified and his passing was more effective - viz that delicious assist for Barnes at West Ham in November.

Unusual to see a loan when someone's out of contract in the next 6 months. But obviously saves some wages. 

 

Not good enough over his time here but i don't think you can ever question his work rate. 

 

I don't think he'll complain about getting out if here and moving to Seville for a bit.
