He has the vision and passing range but lacks the physicality for top 4. Good luck to him but if he delivers the passive performances we have seen in the last 12-18 months he will most likely be on the bench most weeks.
lgfualol Posted 10 June 2023 Posted 10 June 2023 Very underwhelming move for him. Will do alright to begin with then legs/head will go.
HybridFox Posted 10 June 2023 Posted 10 June 2023 Would he have stayed if we stayed up? Seems that way given his ambition
goose2010 Posted 10 June 2023 Posted 10 June 2023 Makes me wonder if he had of stayed if we had stayed up. Wish him well but it's not the best move for him although rumours from villa mates is that he is on 150k a week.
Sunbury Fox Posted 10 June 2023 Posted 10 June 2023 Really surprised he's gone to Villa. Would have been unthinkable for us to be losing any of our top players to them 2 years ago, even a year ago.
AllGoneTitsSchlupp Posted 10 June 2023 Posted 10 June 2023 don’t know whether to laugh or cry at this!
Guest Mee-9 Posted 10 June 2023 Posted 10 June 2023 The bloke had dreams of the bright lights of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool. Maybe even somewhere continental. Ends up at Villa. 40 miles away. Hilarious.

lcfc043 Posted 10 June 2023 Posted 10 June 2023 (edited) “World class” according to some. Yet it’ll be Maddison going to a better club and they have to pay £45m+ for him. Edited 10 June 2023 by lcfc043

lcfc_forever Posted 10 June 2023 Posted 10 June 2023 (edited) His agent has had a mare. All the talk of Champions League and Arsenal, and he ends up at Villa. His half hearted performances were directly connected with him running down his contract, and that put the top clubs off. If he’d signed a new contract with us, he would likely have been more motivated, and performed better. A disappointing outcome for Youri and the club. Edited 10 June 2023 by lcfc_forever

foxesfan98 Posted 10 June 2023 Posted 10 June 2023 Seriously does he even start for Villa? They play a double pivot and they've already got Kamara who's better defensively and Luiz who already has the role of the guy who scores a few bangers every season but can also actually run. I get the feeling they've signed him to mostly play the Conference League games and he'll want to leave after a year.
Tuna Posted 10 June 2023 Posted 10 June 2023 Hw definitely would have signed a new deal had we stayed up you'd think. 1
smudger63 Posted 10 June 2023 Posted 10 June 2023 Not sure Tielemans could have done much better considering his performances for us in the last two seasons. Basically though, he's joining a club in a similar position to the one he was refusing to sign a contract extension for, when it was first offered to him two seasons ago. I'm sure at that point he was expecting a top 4 club to come in for him, but his lack of fitness and application in the last two seasons has cost him any chance of that move. He only has himself to blame.
splinterdream Posted 10 June 2023 Posted 10 June 2023 he's been awful for ages for us. Now, if he starts for Villa looking like he did for us when he first joined us on loan, i'll be pretty annoyed. Hopefully he'll be shocking for them, worth the punt for them though with no fee
bongo92 Posted 10 June 2023 Posted 10 June 2023 So, he decided to hold off renewing his contract for CL, then goes to villa? Bit of a kick in the teeth. 1
whoareyaaa Posted 10 June 2023 Posted 10 June 2023 Villa gone into the not that great list imo. cheers for the fa cup goal.
StanSP Posted 10 June 2023 Posted 10 June 2023 It is written we'll get Villa in the cup and he'll score the winner to knock us out.
Corky Posted 10 June 2023 Posted 10 June 2023 Interesting to know what his wages will be given the reported stumbling blocks for other moves.
