STEVIE B Posted 6 June 2023 Posted 6 June 2023 Unless he sorts his fitness out, can somehow do more than nonchalantly jog about looking disinterested, he won't cut it in The PL............and we made him captain ! Absolutely amazing decision.

He performs when he needs to.

Youri is not a child that has been led astray, he knew what he was doing when he opted for 4 years, as opposed to the 6 we were offering to other players. Inexperienced agents get eaten alive, look at Harry Kane's brother. Fcuked it.
Jon the Hat Posted 6 June 2023 Posted 6 June 2023 Youri will be back to his best under Emery, bloody good manager. Villa will be around the European places for the next 4-5 years before they inevitably implode again. 2

VinceNoir Posted 7 June 2023 Posted 7 June 2023 Just think that we could've attracted Emery if we binned off Rodgers when we should have... sigh

Popular Post alanf0x Posted 7 June 2023 Popular Post Posted 7 June 2023 Great move for Tielemens this. Wish people would stop trying to convince themselves it’s not!! - Nearly doubling his weekly salary - Can stay at his current house where he is settled and children at school etc - Will develop further with the help of a World Class manager - Will play in front of 40,000 non manufactured (clappers) stadium - Regular starter - European football with the target of winning that competition - Challenge for the top 6 Personally, I can’t see too many negatives there. Admittedly it’s frustrating to see Villa where we feel we should be. 5

He refused to sign a deal here because he was adamant he wanted CL football, was adamant he was good enough for that. Yet he's waltzing into a team that are trying to achieve what we had when he refused to sign the deal. That's what people are frustrated about, that is the big annoyance of it all. Funny thing is, if he signs a new deal, he'd probably have been sold for a chunk of money to a CL club. Edited 7 June 2023 by UniFox21 6

He didn’t, there are a number of reasons why he didn’t. Money talks. He achieved what he wanted to achieve - a free transfer so more money in his pocket. In the same position we would all do it

For free and for no benefit to the club who saved his career after the last time he down tools. That’s after putting in little or no real effort for at least 18 months. Anyone who wants to challenge that - Henry Winter, probably the most respected football journalist in the world specifically called this fat lump of lard out against Liverpool for his lack of effort in pressing Liverpool. People will give it to Fofana and Chilwell for “disrespecting the club”. Both forced moves to Chelsea but the same people will give this guy a complete pass. There are various ways to “force a move”. And if that is perceived as “bitter” or whatever, so be it but realistically, this guy hasn’t wanted to be here for two years, couldn’t get a decent offer in that time and is now about to sign for the Leicester 2019 tribute act. If you have an issue with Chilwell, Fofana, Mahrez or whoever, you need to be just as hostile to this guy too.
Jon the Hat Posted 7 June 2023 Posted 7 June 2023 I can't really blame anyone for leaving this shitshow of the past 2 years tbh.

If he goes to Villa instead, shows a lack of ambition and/or focus on family life. Perhaps it's that kind of comfort which helps ensure he doesn't become a top player? 1
Popular Post Pinkman Posted 7 June 2023 Popular Post Posted 7 June 2023 Reckon he'd thrive in Italy, far more technical game played at a slower pace which suits him down to the ground. 5

SB87_LCFC Posted 7 June 2023 Posted 7 June 2023 Would Roma go for Youri after signing Aouar on a free? Have they lost some midfield players?

In a straight race Tielemans would probably outrun Maddison.. Neither are pace players but both have brains and you can't find that easily. Modric doesn't run much but his brain is lightening fast.
Foxes1 Posted 7 June 2023 Posted 7 June 2023 He would do well in Italy with his walking style of football.
