Money has clearly changed things as Serie A was probably the best league in the 90's. I loved watching the Italian football show on channel 4. 1

Gazetta football Italia with James Richardson was legendary. Possibly before your time tbf?

Yes thats the one. I'm 37, so yeh pretty sure that was the show I watched as a kid in the 90's on channel 4. Had so many great players in serie a in the 90's

Hamza in the last two games has shown a great deal of leadership and reliability against good opposition. I really like Ricardo further forward too. Yunus should be the go to sub though, he's becoming very good at pressing and progressing the ball in to the final third. 16
Ross 'LCFC' Turner Posted 27 February 2024 Posted 27 February 2024 (edited) Reminds me so much of Knockaert where he just doesn’t have that half a yard of pace to get away from his man, ends up needing to beat him twice. Can’t fault his effort though, it’s crazy he’s barely featured since Casadei got recalled. Edited 27 February 2024 by Ross 'LCFC' Turner 2

volpeazzurro Posted 28 February 2024 Posted 28 February 2024 Has got to be ahead of Mcateer for me. Always contributing in some way whereas Mcateer is barely ever involved. The latter was particularly conspicuous by his absence mincing about doing nothing whilst Leeds scored there first goal last week which typifies his standard of play.
Popular Post Claudio Fannieri Posted 28 February 2024 Popular Post Posted 28 February 2024 That was his most effective performance last night, his work rate was exceptional and whilst he lacks physicality, he has unbelievable poise and balance on the ball, he offers something different, the amount of times he got himself out of tight spots with some excellent skill and fast feet, all that was lacking last night was a goal. I feel last nights performance was a coming of age for him, I think he has shown Enzo he can be trusted and he is finally getting to grips with what is required to play as an 8 in this team. I fully expect to see a lot more of him in the closing stages of the season and I also think we will sign him in the summer, he will be an assist machine. Last night proved what an exciting prospect he is. 8
lcfc sheff Posted 28 February 2024 Posted 28 February 2024 For the relatively low fee and allowing that we do in fact go up; I do hope we sign him. He’s got potential just needs refining
Kinowe Soorie Posted 28 February 2024 Posted 28 February 2024 He was very wasteful last night. Bit too lightweight also. Thanks for all your hard work this season, but no thank you.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 28 February 2024 Posted 28 February 2024 I can't work him out. He looks very tidy and shows glimpses but the final ball or shot or whatever is almost always wrong. He made some great runs last night and then when he's pulled the defenders all over and the final ball was there to be made he holds on to it for too long or falls over. I want to like him as he obviously likes it here and puts in a shift. Also my wife asked why he kept pulling his shorts right his backside so some more feedback for him there.

MPH Posted 28 February 2024 Posted 28 February 2024 Impressed with how much he’s kicked on since the turn of the new year. Impressed me. He’s won me over. Sign!
Popular Post StriderHiryu Posted 28 February 2024 Popular Post Posted 28 February 2024 (edited) A Galatasaray fan posted this on Reddit after watching the match: We have a saying in Turkish, it roughly translates into “Crossing the ocean just to drown in a pond”. I think it describes Yunus perfectly. He does the “difficult” things, like finding spaces between defenders or a great dribble around a few defenders, but fails to make the simple pass or shot. I hope he can improve on it, but it looks like he is still the same in that regard even though he improved a lot physically. It's a pretty good description of the player I think. It's very interesting to note that he says Akgun has improved a lot physically, as many people still have doubts about that aspect of his game. I would say that he ran from minute 1 to minute 120 in the cup game and got stuck into a lot more challenges. So he's improving in some areas of his game for sure. As I said previously, I think overall he had good involvement in the game, stretching the play and causing a problem. But he's got to work on turning that good build-up play into more end-product. This is a problem we've seen a number of players need to address over the last few years; Barnes, Maddison and KDH, and all 3 of them were able to do it. Edited 28 February 2024 by StriderHiryu 6 1

ARM1968 Posted 28 February 2024 Posted 28 February 2024 I like Yunus. Honest player. He was absolutely knackered when those chances fell to him - just didn’t have enough gas in his tank left to beat the last defender. Could he do a job in the Prem for us? It’s possible, but money will be tight and he’s not a stand out option. 2

Fox92 Posted 28 February 2024 Posted 28 February 2024 He played well yesterday, I thought it was his best game for us. Shame about his finishing but that can we worked on I'm sure.
MGLCFC Posted 28 February 2024 Posted 28 February 2024 Still very young and like Fatawu there is lots of opportunity and time to improve. I think he could develop into a very useful addition with Enzo's coaching and guidance. 1
gurru991 Posted 28 February 2024 Posted 28 February 2024 I think he has the potential to be very good. He is already very sound technically & with continued coaching & maybe with a little weight gain his upside could be huge.
