From what we saw of VK, in my opinion he wasn’t good enough on the ball to play this role long term. I don’t see a place for him

in this squad, within the current system.

Same goes for Thomas as well really.

To be fair, who thought Ndidi would fit this system and be good enough on the ball and he’s a key player.

Choudhury was ruled out by many as not even being worth a place in the squad due to not being good enough on the ball but is becoming an important rotational option for Enzo.

The main issue with VK is that if he does rejoin us next summer, he’s a year behind in terms of adopting the way of playing. But at the same time, won’t be viewed a ls a new player by fans and afforded the same understanding a new signing might whilst getting up to speed.

It feels like he has made his decision and he will be better off moving on permanently. But had he stayed, I’m sure he’d have been good enough based on what we have seen Enzo achieve with others in a short time.

Wouldn't all potential investments face That same  problem, isnt that preparing buildings, with faux-pa bricks..

VK & Thomas are a lot younger than...

Ricardo, Ndidi, Vestergaad & pray tell,

Nacho.... EVERY SINGLE PLAYER... has to adopt 3-6 times to various positions or just playing systems through their careers..

Football/team game is not about finding "made to measure" participants, even inflxable styrile- coaches. Isn't that the idea of being able to play and adopt to different formations...

I feel like a 1000yr old, but wingers were 7+11s R/L half 4+6,but don't modern systems interchange them including with  2 +3s The ,sweepers come &  go.

.ALSO. BECAUSE OF famous  Names to shirt Nrs wasn't position & role changed & rotation mean different things...

It seems to me, it's many fans who  can't get  to grips with the idea updates. and still love to permanently box individual players, they tend to run behind the times.. And the moment... not the Players..

Bologna already trying to get us to reduce his option to buy clause from €15m

The modern game.

Takes the high road, yet makes in clear he sees no future under Maresca.  So when Bologna come in to low-ball the buyout price, we'll see it as in our interest to get something done instead of hold out.

Might well have been coached by his agent.

Some things are utterly predictable

Its best we come to a reasonable compromise either with Bologna or another team, and sell. VK hasn't settled here personally, and  professionally he doesn't want to play as a CB or CM. He's a decent player with plenty of upside, but under Enzo we aren't going to be playing traditional full backs.

We just want to cover our initial investment right, we brought for £12m + a potential £5m in add ons

The quoted buy option of €15m is anywhere between £12-13m depending on rate of the day

After everything that has gone on with our books & the hullabaloo it caused on here i'm surprised people are suggesting we take what we can for a 20yr old who's doing ok & we've only had for a few months.

I'd make it a contractual condition in any loan deal with (supposed) options to buy that the price goes up by a million every time they attempt to renegotiate.

Either way, we ain't getting any money so we may as well have some fun with the tigtarrse cnts

I'd not be upset if in a years time he was back here and they agreed to try and make it work to be honest. I'm easy either way with it. He's got something about him - no surprise that this had him as an outcast in last seasons gang of losers.

Playing in the Premier League again might tempt him come back & try the CB/LB role under Maresca. I doubt very much that Bologna will come up with the cash to buy him.

Bologna were never paying the sort of fee touted and they knew it as well. Their plan clearly was to get him in by any means necessary and hope while he's there he'd join them in fighting for a permanent move for much less than we've agreed. I bet they try and offer us about £7mil.

Like I said I think the best case scenario is he had a change of heart. Was well up for giving him another chance and like I said I liked the fact he didn't fact in with last seasons squad. That's a green flag to me.

If he does well there then he wont be going for a knocked down fee. More likely he’ll of put himself in the shop window and snapped up by another club. These Italian clubs are an absolute embarrassment and fail miserably every single time they try this shite

Player says he joined “dysfunctional” club in Leicester City – Not happy with Maresca changing position, looking for future away

Leicester City’s Victor Kristiansen has experienced a ‘hectic’ year, according to Ekstra Bladet.

The 20-year-old left FC Copenhagen to join the Foxes in January and he made 12 league appearances for the latter in the second half of last season.

Leicester were relegated from the Premier League last season and the left-back was allowed to join Bologna on loan in the summer window.

Enzo Maresca took charge of the club for this season and the report states the manager wanted to convert the Denmark international into a centre-back. This didn’t please the defender and help convinced him to make a temporary switch to Bologna.

“I noticed (the position change) when we were at training camp this summer, but missed being part of the offensive game. So I was happy that we could jointly find a solution,” he told Ekstra Bladet.

Brendan Rodgers was Leicester’s manager when the defender arrived at the club.
Prior to his move to England, he spent his time at Copenhagen. On his decision to move to Leicester, Kristiansen explained: “It has been hard. I probably experienced the hardest way to go abroad.

“I joined a dysfunctional team with a coach under pressure, who was then fired [in April]. I was in a difficult position as a young and newly acquired player, where I suddenly had to help save the club.

“I was alone and thought for a quiet moment if it is really like this to be abroad. It was hard to deal with, and it has left some scars on the soul. It was definitely not what I was hoping for when I went out. That’s why I was happy that this summer we could find a solution, so I was loaned out to Bologna.”

The Dane has made 10 appearances this season for the Serie A side, who have an option to make his stay permanent. The Leicester owned player remains hopeful that he can extend his stay at Bologna beyond this season.

“I have settled in very well at Bologna and hope that we will find a good solution next summer,” he added.

Pleased for him if he's settled now. Sounds like from the interview above it was a mutual decision to not play as an inverted full back rather than Enzo simply writing him off.

I think him, Justin and Ricardo are all better off as traditional wing backs bombing forward rather than inverted.

Ricardo has done so well with it but he's a class above anyone in this league playing wherever he wants to be honest. One thing it might do is help Ricardo and Justin with their injury issues long term.

Yep I think the positional changes for Justin (CB in back three) and Ricardo (inverted full back) have been key to them regaining their fitness and sustaining it over a good run of games.

It looks like Ricardo will now always struggle to sustain the level of fitness required for the long distance covered and frequent sprints required of a modern full/wing back.

Well he won't be involved as long as Enzo is here then. Do Bologna have an obligation to buy?

its an option not an obligation

It's a bit fishy he left because he didn't want to play a certain role.

Would we have got Doyle if VK was on board with the new position?

Would we have let Thomas go?

More money pissed down the drain.

...Thomas could not play the role that Maresca needed him to play!!!

Doyle I suspect we wanted him to bring him in as he suited the role and Kristiansen stating his case made the decision less complicated for Maresca.  Justin has come in and just about held it together, but there will be a marked difference when Doyle returns, regarding support to the Midfield and Left Winger.

Has everyone forgotten that Doyle was crap at defending? Great at transitioning ball quickly, but had some terrible moments defending half decent wingers.

Not bothered thought he was pretty poor to be honest  showed passion and that’s it. Thomas who was poor last season was even getting in ahead of him when  Smith came in .
