I remember driving all the way from Manchester, getting to filbert street to watch us play arsenal, only to find out the game had been snowed off... Please no repeat of that!

Presume Wednesday used to play on a  wednesday  so they may play well on wednesday. A throw back to when shops shut on thursday or wednesday afternoon.Used to be a Leicester thursday rugger team.Checked earlier and almost all of our games until new year are on Sky

...I would be very surprised to see Vardy in this game, but if he does feature, it would be good to see Akgun working from the left putting first-time balls in for an onrushing Vardy!!!

  It is easier to play the ball into the box as a left-footer playing from the left. It might be a good balance with an inverted winger playing on the other side.

I think it is because Sheff Wed were formed by engineering apprentices who had Wednesday afternoon off. Any Wednesday fans on here can confirm?

The Ipswich game on paper looks like a big one, but honestly in some of these games, the team will quite simply be "who is still standing" as opposed to "what is our best team."

 

That said, this should be where our unfair advantage of having such a strong squad kicks in. This will be a big month for players like Akgun, Casadei, Praet, Coady, Choudhury and more. They will get lots of minutes and have the opportunity to make a name ofr themselves. We might even see minutes given to some fresh faces like Cannon and Alves, maybe Wanya comes back in for a game or two as well.

I feel like we almost always go into this fixture as fairly heavy favourites at the top of the league, and they're struggling down at the bottom, and we lose.

They evolved from The Wednesday Cricket club, named after the day of the week that they played.

 

I may have dreamt this but I thought that Hllsborough was built on the site of an abattoir and the blue and white stripes are a nod to butcher's aprons.  Both Wednesday and United refer to each other as piggies.

No. I said it earlier in thread but I think Wednesday will be my 10th visit and I've only seen 3 wins. Shocking record really considering during that time we've generally been the better team.

 

I never look forward to the trip to Hillsborough.

The only time I went to Hillsborough David Nish scored twice and Ally Brown got the other in a 3-0 win. I missed the first goal (hitching lifts was not the most reliable mode of transport) and walked in just as Nish's 30 yarder hit the net! What a midfield pair that day: Kellard and Carlin - both as hard as nails!

Sheffield Wednesday are piss poor, we should be beating them quite comfortably.
