AmyLGK Posted 26 November 2023 Posted 26 November 2023 Bloody risk of snow forecast.... I remember driving all the way from Manchester, getting to filbert street to watch us play arsenal, only to find out the game had been snowed off... Please no repeat of that!
Sunbury Fox Posted 26 November 2023 Posted 26 November 2023 A Wednesday night KO, followed by playing a very tough match only 2.5 days later, at 12.30 on Saturday, surely means a lot of changes for this game. Something like: Mads Souttar, Coady, Justin Hamza, Winks Fatawu, Praet, Ndidi, Yunus Vardy 1
dynamark Posted 26 November 2023 Posted 26 November 2023 Presume Wednesday used to play on a wednesday so they may play well on wednesday. A throw back to when shops shut on thursday or wednesday afternoon.Used to be a Leicester thursday rugger team.Checked earlier and almost all of our games until new year are on Sky

It is easier to play the ball into the box as a left-footer playing from the left. It might be a good balance with an inverted winger playing on the other side.
RonnieTodger Posted 26 November 2023 Posted 26 November 2023 I like Wednesday, but they are crap. Got to be winning this. 1
Wymsey Posted 26 November 2023 Posted 26 November 2023 Think it'll be a heavy win; something like 0-4.

Any Wednesday fans on here can confirm?
Turtle27 Posted 26 November 2023 Posted 26 November 2023 As it’s Sheffield Wednesday Vardy has to start, surely he’s going to want to bag a few against them for old time sake. He will be up for this one 2

The Ipswich game on paper looks like a big one, but honestly in some of these games, the team will quite simply be "who is still standing" as opposed to "what is our best team." That said, this should be where our unfair advantage of having such a strong squad kicks in. This will be a big month for players like Akgun, Casadei, Praet, Coady, Choudhury and more. They will get lots of minutes and have the opportunity to make a name ofr themselves. We might even see minutes given to some fresh faces like Cannon and Alves, maybe Wanya comes back in for a game or two as well. 4
Dan Posted 26 November 2023 Posted 26 November 2023 I feel like we almost always go into this fixture as fairly heavy favourites at the top of the league, and they're struggling down at the bottom, and we lose. Well it's literally 24th v 1st. 3-0 loss.
Tuna Posted 26 November 2023 Posted 26 November 2023 Don't think we have a good record at Hillsborough do we? Think we lost there midweek with Knocky scoring first and losing 2-1 under Pearson, promotion season or the season before.
Ric Flair Posted 26 November 2023 Posted 26 November 2023 It was about this time 11 years ago we went there and won, Ben Marshall got one. Might be the last time we've won there. Hermansen Ricardo Coady Vestergaard Hamza Yunus Winks KDH Fatawu Vardy Mavididi
HighPeakFox Posted 26 November 2023 Posted 26 November 2023 I think it would be fair to suggest that past results at Hillsborough have little bearing on what happens on Wednesday. Anyway, a shock defeat looms......

I may have dreamt this but I thought that Hllsborough was built on the site of an abattoir and the blue and white stripes are a nod to butcher's aprons. Both Wednesday and United refer to each other as piggies.

They may be his childhood club, but they are also the club that released him at 16 and all but ended a great career before it even started. I imagine he’ll have something for them and I can’t wait to see it. Enzo just has to start him! 1

No. I said it earlier in thread but I think Wednesday will be my 10th visit and I've only seen 3 wins. Shocking record really considering during that time we've generally been the better team. I never look forward to the trip to Hillsborough. 1
lcfcell Posted 27 November 2023 Posted 27 November 2023 I had no idea the West Brom game is Saturday 12:30. Quick turn around from this

The only time I went to Hillsborough David Nish scored twice and Ally Brown got the other in a 3-0 win. I missed the first goal (hitching lifts was not the most reliable mode of transport) and walked in just as Nish's 30 yarder hit the net! What a midfield pair that day: Kellard and Carlin - both as hard as nails! 1

Happy Fox Posted 27 November 2023 Posted 27 November 2023 Sheffield Wednesday are piss poor, we should be beating them quite comfortably. Would be nice for us to thrash them 5-0 with the likes of Casadei, Albrighton and Cannon starting.
Vacamion Posted 27 November 2023 Posted 27 November 2023 Sheffield Wednesday always reminds me that this happened. Because Wednesday were down there with us, at that stage, previous hopes that we might scrape by that season and survive, disappeared. Thrash them, please, City.
Spudulike Posted 27 November 2023 Posted 27 November 2023 Not sure that we'll be hearing the 'grass' song from the Owls.
