Its an obligation to buy in the summer and they paid a big loan fee up front - basically just pushed the transfer and a big part of the fee to next summer

They have a contract in place, but contracts can be torn up.

 

Remember when Toby Alderweireld was on loan at Southampton from Atletico, with an obligation to buy? Spurs steamed in and did a deal with Atletico instead, which broke the contract between Atletico and Southampton. Spurs had to pay a fine, but they decided it was worth it.

 

So it can be done, but not particularly elegantly...

Tbf I read somewhere it was  obligation to buy with conditions. **** knows what those conditions are, or if they’ve been met.

Praet to Antwerp makes good sense....he needs to go somewhere and focus on getting fit and playing consistently. Back to Belgium will be good for him personally.

Over his almost 5 seasons with us he’s completed just 4240 minutes of football in a Leicester shirt, the equivalent to 47 full 90 minute fixtures.

 

When you consider we had two lengthy European campaigns in that era that really is astonishing. 
 

He cost us almost £17,000,000 in transfer fee, probably another £ 2,000,000 in signing on and agent fees as well as his wages in this period totalling in excess of £16,000,000 (was more but Torino covered some).

Don't get the abuse, he didn't ask Rodgers and Congerton to sign him and then cast him aside almost instantly. Just another player to add to the long list that Rodgers demotivated, treated poorly, shoved out the door and wrecked with his cack methods. I can't blame anyone who played under that idiot and was treated like so many of them were, not giving two hoots and wanting to just get out of the place.
