A young up-and-coming coach who plays a progressive, possession-based style, and who is available, malleable and cheap — with his own staff as well — seems to be the direction Khun Top would want to go in.

Carrick 🔮

I could see us getting anyone of Carrick, Dyche, Wilder or O’Neil because it’s the easiest options to go for not that I want any of them.
Time will tell but it could be a master stroke Sheffield Utd getting Selles. It would of been very easy for them to stick with Wilder for another season but they prob think he’s been there too long in two spells and it’s time to go for a younger manager who is more of a long term appointment.
I just hope we look abroad instead of the oh he’ll do because he’s available and experienced in this country.

If there a choice between Carrick or Ruud I'd pick Carrick every time because Ruud is completely dog shit and proven he's not up to it.

I totally agree, Carrick would be OK (no more), but that is better than Dyche and certainly better than more RvN.

Given the options now, I hope he gets it.

I bet you wouldn’t want Gerrard though, what is special about Carrick ?

There's nothing special about Carrick but i just don't want Ruud in the job. At least Carrick would bring in his own backroom staff. Looking at the situation now I think the decks are being cleared for a change of manager anyway.

He has bottled plays off in the last two season I think there are better candidates than Carrick, he also plays possession based boring football

Just another incredibly depressing read. Either we've got most things lined up and just waiting for the first domino to fall, or we've done shit all and we're ****ed

Given it was expected Ruud would leave as soon as relegation was confirmed and then again as soon as the last ball had been kicked of the season, would suggest that the only reason he is still here is due to PSR and given that reasoning plus the bits of info shared by @Wymsey  does align to the narrative that Ruud will be gone by 1st July and it’s just a case of how quickly the club take to confirm his replacement.

I honestly think similar to Sheffield United, Wilder hasn’t officially been sacked as yet but it would appear when it is announced it’s likely to coincide with the announcement of his replacement, I think it will be similar with us.

On past offerings, I doubt they've thought that far ahead. I agree that he'll likely be going on 1st July, but I doubt they've even thought about his replacement and it'll be weeks after. That would be a disastrous situation. I just hope you're right. Although that would point to a free agent.

The lack of rumours recently is worrying, either they're keeping it very hush, or they have no clue.

This will be PSR and Ruud will be sacked around July 1st but we all know we won’t have sorted a replacement out. They will release the news of sacking and it will be followed with “Leicester now begin search for his replacement”.

The replacement will be out of work and will be based here with prem or championship experience and it won’t be experience  of success, it will be failure or just mediocrity. Many of us will scratch our heads and many will clamber around trying to find positives and find rationale to justify it like we have to with nearly all signings.

This will be the rinse and repeat process until king power have gone and they are going no where.

You seem to imply that King Power routinely recruits unsuccessful journeymen managers, but how many of those have we actually seen? You could make a case for Claudio and Sven matching that description, but both their prior records were mixed rather than bad. I’m struggling to think of another one. If anything, I’d say there’s been no clear pattern in our owners’ managerial appointments.

Of course it’s possible that we may end up with an unimaginative choice like Dyche or O’Neil or Wilder, but I don’t think that would be s ‘typical’ King Power appointment.

Matias Almeyda has just left AEK Athens. Was a manager i wished we'd looked at when Brendan was sacked and then when Enzo left but not sure he'd be interested in a Championship club. He did a very impressive stint at AEK though, he's a class act.

Based on my horrendous track record, one to cross off.

Hired by Sevilla. Should have hired him when we had the chance.

I’m judging this on our current finances, and recent lack of imagination. It might not be a journey man but recent appointments of cooper, smith and Ruud and Rodger’s all point towards the type of appointment we will make. The difference this time is we are in the championship with a points deduction. So yes I think it will be a freebie, prior experience of domestic league  will be paramount and I’m not sure what style they are going to be becuase there appears to be zero plan. I don’t think you can be begrudge my lack of expectation. 3 of the last 4 appointments shave been truly woeful.

The fact Rohl hasn’t been signed by anyone else makes me wonder if this is already done. Just kept on the low until July 1st when we announce we’ve sacked Ruud.

Thing is with the current situation at Sheff Wed it's a really really complicated appointment target. Can't see it myself

Yea, I think it’s probs best case scenario tbh and we don’t plan in advance so it’s definitely not happening.

The fact that Dyche has not been mentioned regarding any other vacancies says more imo.

There have been/are several championship jobs available and I would have thought he would be high up the wish list of those clubs.

We haven’t got the time to sack RVN and then start negotiations with clubs for managers in situ. Whoever comes in will need to be already available.

The scary thing is, there are no real rumours. Not of potential candidates or of Ruud staying. I mean we’ve all seen this process of a managers job being on the line and potential candidates being linked etc. in past. You’d have rumours every 2nd or 3rd day from multiple outlets.

Its way too quiet which, based on this lots past dealings it means one thing - they haven’t even started the process. Either way.

It’s negligence. It’s been negligence for some time. It’s unacceptable.

Unless the club is being sold in the background? Which seems very unlikely so you are right it’s negligence and then some from Top and the board as per usual.
