Makes you think how bad have things been where "just run lads" is met with a "GAFFER SETTING THE STANDARDS 👊💪" post.

**** me literally the bare minimum. The way he's scanning to check the social media bloke is still recording is extremely Brent as well.

Sick of performative bollocks. Show me on the pitch, until then **** off and keep quiet.

Couldn't agree more. Its all absolute bollocks.

So many fans on here lap it up every time a new manager speaks/does his first interview. Anyone who's seen a manager in a workplace knows how easy it is for them to portray confidence and say "whats right".

Sad that people genuinely lap the bare minimum up. I'm with you until I see it translate to outcomes then its all performative.

I'm Martin's number 1 hater, so I'm being massively bias, I acknowledge that but I'm a bit obsessed with the fact that his career is entirely based around 25 games.

He came 4th with a relegated side and then the 3 promoted teams resulting in the worst performance in Premier League history, it wasn't exactly a tough division that season and they fell apart at the end of that season.

I actually don't have an issue at all with possession football, I have an issue with him being a bad manager. Since January 2024 (so this includes half his promotion season) he's won 17 games in 53, a win rate of 32%, Marti was sacked with 36%. During our worst ever season our manager had a better win rate than Russell Martin has over the last 2 and a half years.

Marti was shit, he was incredibly lucky to win the games he did. The only games deserved were Derby, and Ipswich the rest were only won due to James or Fatawu. That period included a tough Premier League season and a job in Scotland that was too big for him. Marti has and will never manage in either of those divisions because he is a shit ****. Overall Martins performance is better. I don’t have an issue with possession football, I have an issue with managers who have no tactics at all. Martin probably doesn’t get us relegated and he should be able to get the team out of this division, if he doesn’t he won’t get another job either.

Inspires confidence doesn’t it, pleading with a load of allegedly professional athletes who are laying around on the ground to please just run a bit in the games, otherwise I’m going to keep asking you please run in the games

A few cheap dates on here, Cifuentes and Rowett would have said remarkably similar things - it's just they wouldn’t have wanted it filmed unlike PRussell

Wishing RM the best here. Evident fans have already turned against him. Hopefully he can be backed and start the much needed rebuild.

I really hope it works for him here.

You can't "turn" on someone you never wanted here in the first place. He's the only manager in our history for our fans to be singing against before he was even appointed. The proper hardcore too becuase it was Bournemouth away when we were already relegated so hardly full of bandwagoners.

Whilst I empathise with supporters over the appointment, he wasn't my first choice either, we've got to get behind him and the team from the off.

Nothing good will come with toxic shit towards him or the players from the first minute of the new season. I support any anti Rudkin and especially Top chants/protests and whatever comes with that.

This isn't blind loyalty - my view can change 10 games in if he and the team aren't performing but off the bat we need to support.

Agree completely! It feels like the fanbase is perched ready to pounce on anything he does which seems to me we're just asking for it to go wrong...no good will come from it!

I'm as underwhelmed as anyone else but gotta get behind him and hope the board back him too otherwise we might as well have not bothered.

Personally I am quite glad he has told the fookers to run a bit - it maybe bloody obvious but I think since the last season under Rodgers the basics in the football club have been missing and never mentioned.

Like many I wanted anyone but RM however now he’s here he will get my support like all managers from the off as it’s our club - I don’t want him to fail I want him to be a roaring success get us back up at least and get us a team to be proud of - he has a chance as I am sure this preseason we will have a complete squad reset and blooding a mix of youngsters who are ready with some new signings will feel like a breath of fresh air - maybe I am being too optimistic but the club and RM are at the last chance saloon so we will see!!

Right sentiment but totally lost in his delivery, it needed a bit more Pearson and a bit more of grabbing one of them by throat whilst screaming "You will run for me you little......."

Fergie, Pearson, Warnock, Big Sam etc etc approach doesn't work in 2026.

I'm usually get behind him but genuinely why should we? We asked for any manager but him and they picked him, why should we try and make that decision work for them when we've been explicitly ignored.

If your partner brought a shit house you specifically said you didn't want, after destroying the last house you had, would you be like "well the best course of action is showing your support to that decision"

if the alternative is homelessness (to stretch this metaphor, if we're down here for any sustained length of time, or worse, fall lower, then we're facing a financial oblivion) then yes, you make do and mend

Exactly. The reason why this clown is still getting gigs is because he knows how to say the right things.

It does feel like this could get very toxic similar to cooper, he’s not going to be given an ounce of time he really has to hit the ground running

Then we’ll hire the Northampton manager after they’ve beaten us twice.

I get the feeling if that camera zoomed out, you would only see Hamza and the fella who had his back to us.
