@Collymore didn't you speak with him in Spain and he said he wanted to stay but the club were looking to move him on?

Yeah he was saying it was all out of his hands. He was a nice guy.

Faes also a really nice guy by the way.

Alves I feel now reflecting might be off on loan or was forewarned about all these attacking players coming in.

Don't see it, one the top performers pre-season, lot of games to play, gets his chance this season.

You've got a good couple in Wesley and Chappers - both know each other's game inside out and had this esoteric awareness of where the other was. We scored loads from Burns' cut-backs and Chaplin's acute ability to know where they'd land.

I don't suppose you fancy a Scottish international striker for £10 million.........?

I don't see why

Even after Burns signs he is still his only competition for right wing - and Alves can play as a 10 or as a left winger so if Mavididi fvcks off he is also good competition for Watson

He is going to get a lot of football this season and the only thing that will restrict that is his own fitness

Haven't we got a sell on clause on him as well? Fingers crossed Stoke pay the reddies.

If Alves isn't with us for this season, he never will be.

I agree, it feels like now or never and I’m desperate for him to excell here.

I know Jake Evans is younger but I almost feel that if he doesn’t get minutes and  progress with us this season then that’ll be him done here

I have not seen any mention of a price ?

3 year contract yes, but no fee.

Anybody heard anything or is he moving on a free ?

Surely we wouldn't expect a fee? He's only just signed his year extension. We'd let him go on a free surely?

Ipswich fans reckon he's still got his pace despite the ACL so that's something I suppose.

15% wasn't it?

Fatawu looked brilliant last night by the way. Just in case you're interested?

He's an incredible talent. Not sure if you've seen it yet but defensively he's excellent which is rare for a flair player like him.

He's pacey but he's not THAT pacey. His game is finding space on the right and providing killer passes. Scores a few as well, has that John Wark-like innate ability of arriving late in the box, without actually being anything like John Wark.

He's not a Vardy. He's too good for League One though.

Thanks for your opinion.

How do you think G O’Neil will get on next season? I know it’ll be a struggle but is he the right manager.

Don't worry Rudkin will insist on paying one!

Tough I reckon. Still, I was one of the few Ipswich fans secretly not displeased that McKenna chose to leave. We were way too open at times under KM. That isn't to say he won't make a great manager elsewhere, but I liked what O'Neil did at Bournemouth. And Wolves are a basket-case. Still, he kept them up.

I think you’re doing all the right things. Following similar paths to Bournemouth, Brentford, Fulham and Brighton. From afar it seems impressive what you’re doing.

Fatawu is a player, if he performs as we know he does, you’ve got a cheat code.

He played really well last night. Linked up with the midfield well, played the simple ball when it was on and took their left-back to the cleaners. Looking forward to watching him as the season unfolds.

Yeah probably me over thinking hopefully.

I genuinely can't believe a club paid actual money to us for Kasey McAteer and George Hirst and they're somehow in the Premier League taking Abdul Fatawu from us while we're relegated to League One scooping up their has-beens.

What the **** is happening.

Both played their part. Kasey M started slowly but was coming on in leaps and bounds. He'll be one who I hope will flourish under GON, probably more than he did under McKenna.

George Hirst needs confidence in his ability. Trouble is, you went down the "paying £90k a week for Winks" route and probably disregarded the most important bit. It's about building a team. The sum of the parts individually may be a lot less, but if they play as a team, they're decent.

You'll find this out in League One. I think you'll be top two, but playing a more team-oriented game than you maybe have for a season or two.
