Agree Haddin is the man of the series, Johnson will get it though.

Carberry v Root isn't a hard question. Both are struggling but one is a has been never good enough for test cricket, the other is young, has bags of talent and will be around the first team for years. I said at the start of the series we'll look back and think wtf at Carberrys selection.

Even more of a mockery was the claim he is up there to boost the run rate lol lol

Not in a bad position in this test still, batting looks far stronger.

What a talent we have in Stokes.

The worst thing about this is Australia aren't that good! I could just about take the taunts and laughter going into work everyday when we lost 5-0 to a side containing Ponting, Hayden, Hussey, McGrath, Warne, Gilchrist etc while we had Ashlee Giles and Co.. but we have equally as much ability in the dressing room as Australia if you look at it man for man at peak form we are arguably slightly better.

The simple fact is from minute one, one side has come out attacked and wanted to win the other thought they could just turn up and win. Time for a rebuild: Swan already gone, possibly Trott too. Carberry has surly played his one and only series, and Prior may well be out as also, time for Pieterson to move over?

Do we have replacements? would like to see Root groomed as an opening batsman and given a run in the side alongside Cook. Stokes has been a find other than that, out of ideas?

I Don't get to see any county cricket these days, are there any replacement lining up?

Apparently no team has lost all 100 wickets in a five test Ashes series. History's there for the taking boys!

Edit: just looked into this and it's true. You can only los

e all 100 wickets in a 5-0 whitewash obviously - in 2006/07 we declared in Adelaide and in 1920/21 JW Hearne was absent hurt in the second test

http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/62522.html

I suspect we shall make history tomorrow then. I suppose technically you could lose all 100 wickets and win 5-0 or draw 0-0

Ha, good point I've had a 'MARE there! lol I was thinking that if you were batting second you'd have wickets in hand when you won/drew, but didn't really think about batting first lol Can I use the early morning as an excuse?

yep that's pretty much it their batsmen are no great shakes  as I suspect the South Africans will demonstrate shortly ( with the exception of Haddin who has batted well on some pretty poor wickets and supported the middle and tail order brilliantly turning 5 down for next to nothing into winning scores)  Johnson has also got into the batters' heads but can only bowl at one end in 6-7 over spells and there is simply no excuse for test players to lose their wickets consistently for low scores to lyon or siddle.

I wouldn't mind at this stage if they walked off the pitch, grabbed their things & went straight to the airport.

It couldn't get anymore embarrassing

And miss out on the rest of their paid holiday?

Men against frightened little boys.  England players have to toughen up.

there must be an enquiry from outside the camp into the way this tour has gone . The players and management have forfeited the right to say who stays and goes by playing so poorly. I am  assuming that the bowling coach's instructions comprised something like go out and bowl half trackers at the likes of  Watson (rather than exploit his lbw weakness) and at the body of Haddin who has more than enough bottle  to deal with the medium pace of our attack. Heaven knows what the batting advice was. Either way the advice was crap or was simply ignored which argues for a change.

Selection was farcical from start to finish- dropping Root who is surely likely to be a fixture in the side when they stop picking him in a different position in each game (and who's bowling incidentally looked no worse than Borthwick) and including Carberry who rose from obscurity and will shortly return there. Finally no more back to back ashes please. I expect us to win the next home series lets make them wait to try to regain them

This has gone beyond farce into disgrace.  There is no way that the Australian side are 5-0 better than us.

At least they've talked a good game, about pride and fight.

This is a fucking joke, like i'm not even that much of a cricket fan, I like and take interest in the Ashes and thats about it.

But this is winding me up, I hope these players never play for England again, awful.

I joked the other day but I seriously mean it now, Worst Ashes side in history, I hope this team is happy with that tag.

I'm afraid to say I think they deserved 5-0,they have looked much better in every department. We bottled it.Only Stokes and maybe Broad can walk through that terminal with their heads held high.

How can you say that about the same team who beat them 3-0 in the summer? lol Something clearly not quite right though, absolute disgrace
