Callabinho Posted 26 May 2014 Posted 26 May 2014 Could be agent play, force Everton to up their game and offer him a better wage packet. All though he is the type of player NP likes.
Tuna Posted 26 May 2014 Posted 26 May 2014 I would imagine he'd be too expensive and he would surely have offers from so called 'bigger' teams.
Tielemans63 Posted 26 May 2014 Posted 26 May 2014 Read beyond the headline and that whole article is about how we've got no chance of signing of him.
Stevosevic Posted 26 May 2014 Posted 26 May 2014 It would be a real sign of intent, very highly rated by Man City fans. No chance though, much better offers.
Eastwellfox Posted 26 May 2014 Posted 26 May 2014 Yes yes yes!!. Pay him in wages what would have been a 4 million fee over 2 years. Job done get it on!!

The 33-year-old has offers from Everton and Arsenal but the Upton Park club are trying to improved terms over a two-year deal. Everton have offered Barry around £50,000 a week while Arsenal's is similar but Barry knows his playing opportunities would be more limited at The Emirates. West Ham are looking to push closer to £65,000 a week and would offer regular football. suffolk fox Posted 26 May 2014 Posted 26 May 2014 Apart from Allbrighton and Hamer at the moment we are going down the same route we failed at last time we were in the premiership. Another one who's best days are behind him. No thank you another Dads army star looking for his last pay cheque. Whatever next, Ashley Cole anyone Rio Ferdinand?

You clearly didn't watch any of Gareth Barry's performances last season.

Whatever next, Ashley Cole anyone Rio Ferdinand?Because Barry, Cole and Ferdinand aren't better than what we had last time in the prem are they...Also, they clearly won't but if they accepted £30k per week you wouldn't take them?
hackneyfox Posted 26 May 2014 Posted 26 May 2014 Because Barry, Cole and Ferdinand aren't better than what we had last time in the prem are they... Also, they clearly won't but if they accepted £30k per week you wouldn't take them? I thought it had been agreed that the 30k was just paper talk.

Another one who's best days are behind him. No thank you another Dads army star looking for his last pay cheque. Whatever next, Ashley Cole anyone Rio Ferdinand? So apart from 2 of our 3 signings we are going down the same route? This won't happen but I like the intent of trying to get a big name who is in form.

Also, they clearly won't but if they accepted £30k per week you wouldn't take them? No, I admire our scouting network to go into the depths of France, Spain, Uruguay, Argentina look at younger talent. Swansea did it when they went up signed the likes of Michu etc for I believe 2 million quid look how good he turned out to be. We do not need or want ageing premier league stars who are past their best who are looking for their next big money move. If we can find the likes of Knockeart and Mahrez who I cannot wait to see in the premiership why can't we find another gem for next to nothing?
Fox92 Posted 26 May 2014 Posted 26 May 2014 I hate these sort of rumours. Not going to happen. Not just because of the wages issue, but a player like Barry, who has just had a good loan spell at Everton, could get into most teams in the division.
smudger63 Posted 26 May 2014 Posted 26 May 2014 This is so not going to happen! Welcome to silly season!!
woznotwos Posted 26 May 2014 Posted 26 May 2014 Thing is , for every Michu there are many more failures , premiership squads are littered with them.

So apart from two of our three signings then... There is a trend there, and it's not the one you are trying to make up.

Not just because of the wages issue, but a player like Barry, who has just had a good loan spell at Everton, could get into most teams in the division. By most teams, do you mean, Hull City, Crystal Palace, Aston Villa, West Brom, Swansea and the like where Barry would be regular first team, or do you mean Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Man Utd, where he wouldn't. Now tell me again exactly why you are so certain he wouldn't come to Leicester if we paid him enough.

Players like barry would help no end.. although I agree I dont want too many id expect one.. maybe two more over 30s and then two mid twenties... plus the usual one or two future development players to join the academy... I wouldnt be surprised if we also spent a little on one European player.. likely a forward and maybe see wood sold for a small fee to someone like fulham.. although I dont see pearson breaking yhe record in this window.. unless its a real bargain as if that player picks up an injury its a waste and pearson is sensible like that ideally not too much change in yhe squad for the first season for me... if this three year plan is a target I expect an average of 2 or 3 in n 2 or 3 out in each of the next 6 windows to havd an almost complete squad overhaul wiyh the likes of kasper moore drinky james mahrez n knocky being the only survivors
