Hull Pre Match Thread

Just read that both Pearson & Morgan have said that The King Power for the last 7 games should become a fortress.

Don't know if it's just me but from that I got:

We will defend the entire game, play one guy up front and try to pinch a goal for a win.

I honestly think it is become irrelevant to try to pick out a team for any given game, when we will just defend. Then try to score once we have conceded. We or Pearson should just put all the names in an hat and pick them out one by one. Also do it with the sunstitute selections during the game. He likes to play players out of position and well him sub selections are like watching episodes of the Twilight Zone.

Would def have liked to see more of DD and MJ together. Such a great partnership last season. DD looks a much better player with MJ with him. Really expected to see the two of them with Cambi behind them in a three this season. But it's never really happened. Cambi hasn't seemed interested in playing a holding role so has basically taken DD's role as playmaker. Whilst Cambi is a great player, playing him in a two means we don't press as much in midfield as last season, which was key to our success. We've lost so much energy compared to last season, to our detriment.

Hmm, this doesn't sound good:

City look set to stick with the five-man defensive line for the remainder of the season and Morgan, who is part of a rearguard of three central defenders, said they were feeling more comfortable in the formation.

"We've done plenty of work on it," he added. "If we can keep clean sheets or keep teams at bay for as long as possible, it gives our strikers and attacking players the best chance possible to get a goal and win the game.

"It's a new system that we've recently adopted and, for the majority of games, it's worked. We've just got to keep going, keep plugging away and score some more goals."

How can he say its worked for the majority of games? We haven't won a game yet playing five at the back! Are we really going to play this formation against Hull? :-(

Hull's line-up vs. Sunderland.

The key will be width, especially down the left where I can't see Elmohamady tracking particularly vigilantly.

They're not particularly quick at the back either. Let's overload them with pace. Would love to see this but I'd be surprised:

--------------------Hamer

-----RDL-----Huth----Was---Schlupp

---------------Cambi--James

---Mahrez-------------------------Vardy

---------------Krama----Nuge

Hope he doesn't go with 5-4-1, inviting more and more pressure all game as we sit back....but he probably will, and then in his post-match interview will discuss the importance of taking chances....etc...thanks, Nige.

Give me 3-4-2-1 as follows:

Kasper (if fit)

Huth, Was, Upson

RDL, James, Cambiasso, Schluup

Vardy - Mahrez

Kramaric

Let's ****ing go for it!!!

4 games, 1 point. And we were lucky to get that due to Lukaku's Nugent like finishing.

"If we keep clean sheets", we've conceded twice in every single game we've played it.

Time for them to prove me wrong but I have little faith in this formation to really put us on the front foot.

I just worry we're persisting with failures and will be relegated as a result. It isn't good enough.

This can't be real?

Have the mercury spoken to someone claiming to be Wes Morgan in an attempt to further embarrass him and his manager?

What sort of team plays 5-4-1 with out and out full backs?

Only teams that are way below their opponents level and are happy to keep the score down like a San Marino.

Pearson is arrogant enough to maintain but if he does and we don't win he deserves to be slaughtered.

Surely even the Pearson fan boys can't defend that decision?

I can believe it!

Pearson has lost himself in the wilderness, and is behaving like a doomed soul.

I am getting nervous about this game. If we lose, then down we go imo. Even a draw would be a bad result.

Let's hope this is a double bluff to lull Hull into a false sense of security! Have a horrible feeling, though, that we will play 541 again. I guess he'll sub Kram after an hour as well. Depressing.

Can't see Morgan being part of a double bluff and being dropped, Coco will drop Huth before his beloved captain.

Yes if he has actually said that it's ridiculous but might explain why nothing changes,if they believe it works why would they change it!!!
