Corky Posted 25 October 2015 Share Posted 25 October 2015 The wally looks a goner after this today. It was the strangest game given the scoreline you'll see, Newcastle were pretty much the better side throughout yet lost 3-0. I know Dougie Freedman at Palace a few years ago said they were disappointed they didn't beat us after we won 3-0 and was ridiculed (correctly) but there is a case for Newcastle to feel they should've won this one. Wymsey Posted 25 October 2015 Share Posted 25 October 2015 Even if Coloccini didn't tackle, the Sunderland player and the goalkeeper would've been 50/50 with each other.

Guest ttfn Posted 25 October 2015 Share Posted 25 October 2015 3-0 to your rivals and one win in God knows how many games? He's on borrowed time. 3-0 in a game they were well on top in until the referee changed the game. Pardew, a manager with a far inferior CV, survived a number of spells far worse than this and was never sacked. I'd be astonished if McClaren went before Christmas. They've got a great run of fixtures coming up and I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they were 5 points clad of the drop by the new year.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 25 October 2015 Share Posted 25 October 2015 a) He's called Barnaby - get in the bin kid b) He leaves games on 85 minutes to film "fan cams." I ****ing hate football. Jermaine Jenas again. Probably sleeps in the coridoors of the BBC. His missus is supoib though so I admire him in a way, even if he does say "for me" a pornographic amount of times
lgfualol Posted 25 October 2015 Share Posted 25 October 2015 Just thinking we're only 1 of 2 sides (the other being Bournemouth) to have been on UK TV only once so far this season. By the time the man united game comes around we'll be one of only 2 teams (the other being Norwich who've been on twice and hammered both times) to have been on TV less than 3 times. All the while we're 5th in the league and playing what is universally acknowledged as some of the best football in the division. Not that I'm complaining as fortunately I have a season ticket and I'd rather games didn't get moved but it makes you realise how little Sky/BT perceive the rest of the country to care about us. This is why I love streamers more than anything else
The Doctor Posted 25 October 2015 Share Posted 25 October 2015 Did Boruc have a bet on kane to score a hat trick, mad for the penalty, mad for his third and I think there's some blame on him for the second. Not to mention the flap for the third Spurs goal. Dreadful keeping.
Donut Posted 25 October 2015 Share Posted 25 October 2015 Dreadful keeping, dreadful team. With or without their injured players who they paid over the top on.
fuchsntf Posted 25 October 2015 Share Posted 25 October 2015 Not a chance, his team played well from what I saw. They have attacked well 4 games in a row now, it's just that the defence is a shambles. I think he'll sort it and they'll finish 13th-16th. Definitely think Sunderland, Bournemouth, Villa and Norwich are more vulnerable. Thats how I also see it.Even though black cats won, Newcastle looked the better side. Big Sam hinted there is a long hardway to go yet.The January sales wont help this Sunderland side. They need alot of magic from Sam. Newcastle have a good base, I see them winning alot of their home games. Bournemouth without their top players, are going to struggle, strange because imo, with a full squad keeping injury free, they are competitive enough to stay out of bottom 3. Villa..depends what their new manager does. Norwich, will be like Burnley, play some great football, but again fall short. Relegation places are a long way from being sorted. Dan LCFC Posted 26 October 2015 Share Posted 26 October 2015 Sunderland surely can't fluke survival again. If they stay up this year they've surpassed Wigan in terms of shithousery.

Livid Posted 26 October 2015 Share Posted 26 October 2015 I thought Newcastle played the much better football yesterday and there was no way they were going to lose that game until the sending off. The scoreline really flattered Sunderland.

weller54 Posted 26 October 2015 Share Posted 26 October 2015 Can't see Pearson getting back to managing a PL club ever again.. Unless he gets promotion with a championship club?... Sol thewall Bamba Posted 26 October 2015 Share Posted 26 October 2015 From Phil McNulty's piece on the BBC website on Sherwood getting the boot:"Players such as £8m Jordan Veretout, a 22-year-old brought in from Nantes, have not looked fit for Premier League purpose"Remember how gutted we were when he signed for them Can't see Pearson getting back to managing a PL club ever again.. Kitchandro Posted 26 October 2015 Share Posted 26 October 2015 So Fat Sam doesn't want players sent off for denying goalscoring opportunities. No surprise coming from him since he's always hated goals but are people really happy with the idea that a player can hack you down just to stop you scoring and not get properly punished for it? A penalty isn't always an easier scoring chance.

Fox92 Posted 26 October 2015 Share Posted 26 October 2015 Manchester derby was a bit of a letdown. No passion. Not like the days of Scholes, Neville, Keane etc and they'd do anything to win.

A penalty isn't always an easier scoring chance. Think there should be some discretion to it and its not just standard punishment for eveey incident. What I do think is you shouldn't serve a ban for two yellow card dismissals. Prime examples this weekend were Gareth Barry and Saido Mane. Not dangerous play whatsoever just silly mistimed challenges. They get sent off so why punish them for the next game?
Footballwipe Posted 26 October 2015 Share Posted 26 October 2015 Just thinking we're only 1 of 2 sides (the other being Bournemouth) to have been on UK TV only once so far this season. Not that I'm complaining as fortunately I have a season ticket and I'd rather games didn't get moved but it makes you realise how little Sky/BT perceive the rest of the country to care about us. In their mild defence (and it's not much of a defence) the games for August and September were picked before the season started, and October and November were done just a few weeks into the season (though we had made a good start then). They couldn't have their crystal ball and know we were going to be this good, plus the fact we've only played one "big" team so far in Arsenal, which admittedly wasn't live. But I agree it's nothing to complain about, look at Derby being pulled from pillar to post with live games this season in the Championship for example. However while we have the most settled set of fixtures in the league it'll count against us towards the latter half when we're moved more. A thread on another forum who track PL picks reckon we might be moved for TV for Villa away (12:45 Sat), Stoke at home (13:30 Sun) and Man City away (17:30 Sat) in the next round of picks to happen in a few weeks time. The 12:45 and 13:30 are inevitable at some point, I'm a broken record on this but we have to be picked at least once in each slot, so at some point we will be, and the longer we go on, the more we'll be picked if we're still up there. We can be shown a maximum of 28 times in a season so they've got plenty of picks still!
