Bolasie/Troy Deeney

Recommended Posts

Deeney would be an excellent fit for us, he'd be the perfect foil for vardy and a massive upgrade on ulloa and shinji.

He's great in the dressing room and will always give us 100%.

At 27/28 he's coming into his best years. With all due respect to Watford we can offer him so much more- champions league football for instance.

I'm hoping flores imminent departure upsets him sufficiently to put a move from Watford into his mind and hopefully we can go in and get it done.

It would be a great fit for both parties.

I can't see what Deeney would bring to the party. He is like Ulloa, can chip in with the occasional goal. We need a good midfielder who is a free kick specialist and can get us 15 to 20 goals a season in the vein of a Gerrard or Lampard type of central midfield play role. A five goal a season front man will kill us off.

Considering he's scored 12 league goals playing as a second striker in a team that doesn't have as many creative players as us, I really don't see where you're coming from. He's also got six assists. Compare that to Okazaki who has five goals and 0 assists.

Can't imagine if any of the usual top four had won the league this year that they would be looking at the likes of Deeney  so why should we ? he's not good enough for a championship winning side.

Can't imagine any of them were looking at Wes Morgan or Danny Drinkwater either. Behave.

The more I think about this the more I like the sound of him here. He's very loyal to Watford but just off the top of my head I can list a few reasons why he'd move:

- Obviously CL is a massive draw, and he's not likely going to get the chance again becasue I can't see one of the traditional 'big' clubs taking a chance on him.

- I have no idea what he earns but I reckon we could give him a healthy rise.

- He's a brummy lad, I don't know how many friends/family he still has in the area but if he's looking to get closer to where he grew up then we would be perfect.

That's the recruiter in me assessing the three main points on why someone would move what is essentially a job, opportunity, money and location. Add to that the uncertainty of a manager change, and I think we could onto a goer here.

I absolutely love troy deeney for a whole host of reasons.

1. After his historic goal against us he was very gracious about us as a club and as a set of fans.

2. (Like myself) he has made some mistakes in his past but gained redemption through hard work.

3. His attitude is outstanding, I heard him on talksport the other day talk about other players 'at work' never heard a player call football work before tells you everything you need to know about him.

4. He is an absolute beast sod his attitude he is a serious player anyone who thinks he is not can't have watched Watford much this year.

Troy would be such a good fit at Leicester I almost want to cry anyone who says they don't want him either dosent understand football and certainly doesn't comprehend what we have achieved this season with a bunch of hard working, gritty players with the right attitude!

That last bit is spot on, Walshy loves people who have gone through hardship to get to where they are today.

Surely the fact that we won the league this year tells you that we shouldn't be rushing to imitate Chelsea's or United's transfer policies.

Should boost Deeneys chances of getting an England call with training/playing with Vardy and Drinks most days of the week too.

Bit of a question in my head as to whether he can adapt to playing for another team with most of his success being with Watford but thats a question of us accommodating too I suppose and we seem good at that. Dont want to jinx ourselves by bringing him in after his magic against us either, call the monks and see if this ones a go-er.

I do get the feeling Deeney likes Watford like Vardy likes us. We're a lot more reliable though I think, Watford seem to have no real continuity about them at all. They often find the right people to be fair to them but I always get the impression they'll get it horribly wrong one time. Leicester I don't think will now.

Are we only allowed to buy one player?

Like it, I'm a recruiter too - looks like we can match his, and our needs

Common sense prevails with the majority of comments, Deeney is an absolute no brainer for team fit, if you had to defend Vardy and Deeney for 90 minutes, you would not look forward to it at all. Vardy around your ankles trying to get first run on you, Deeney's physical presence felt for every 50/50 and header, not forgetting his link up play surpasses Ulloa and Okazaki

Only 2 have come against top 8 sides in the EPL and 6 came against the relegated clubs. Does that tell us anything? Okazaki has played 1200 minutes less, does that tell us anything?

Tells us that Okazaki is not good enough hence being subbed off so many times that he has missed 1200 minutes without being injured or suspended.

Perfect signing for me. He fits everything we've been building and adds more quality to the team. Can't believe people are snubbing this , do you not remember how we got to where we are? You sign the right player to the squad not just a big name from abroad.

I've been a fan of Deeney since his Halesowen days (I lived for a time in the Black Country and watched The Yeltz) and have touted his name as a City player ever since. He has the right mentality and attributes to fit into our squad, is a fine team player scores and creates goals.

Looking at stats - Deeney 12 goals, 7 assists (playing most the season as more of a number 10 behind Igahlo. Average tackles made 1.3, interceptions 0.4.

Our number 10 for most of the season Okazaki, 5 goals, 0 assists. Average tackles made 1.1, interceptions 0.4.

Love Shinji, his workrate is phenomonal and we should 100% keep him, but as another option Deeney makes sense.

Hardly fair when Okazaki doesn't take penalties. Only about half are from open play.

I think I'd certainly keep Okazaki even if Deeney/any other strikers sign, as Okazaki is still a good option to have in the squad because of what he offers in terms of movement, work rate etc. Given we're going to be in Europe, we're gonna need squad depth in all positions. I also feel Okazaki could score more next season and contiune to get better, I know he hasn't scored loads this season, but having this season's experience to adapt to the level of the Premier League could be key for him. It was the same for Drinkwater, Vardy and Morgan, after a season in the PL they all now look accomplished at the level.
