Kapustka on the bench for the next three matches, Okazaki likely to drop a bit deeper in a No. 10 role.

Sorted.

Luckily, that ban covers two out of three matches (Boro at home & Sinderland away) where we have a better chance of getting something out of it even without Drinkwater.

I also hope that in his absence, he rediscovers and works on some of his sharpness and regains his stamina.

Those two games where, on paper, there was a better chance of getting 3 points have become a lot more difficult . I would argue it would be far less damaging him not being available at Man City

I said yesterday people are making a mistake in underestimating just how difficult the next two games are and they just got a whole lot harder

Don't even want to think about losing Drinkwater and having no option but to stick with King and Amartey as a partnership for three games.

The Positive (if there is one) is that boro home Sunderland away are good fixtures to miss him for should still be OK for 4 points from those even without him man city is a massive loss though

I'd rather Drinkwater miss games where we play teams where we don't expect to get a result (top 6 teams) rather than teams around us.

Was hoping this could signal the change to a 3 man midfield but after reading this from Claudio it doesn't look like it :(

“The operation will be the same tactically. Of course it’ll change the individual movement of the players because Drinky knows very well the movement and the others have to make their movement.

Not sure anyone is underestimating them now. I feel we have to be cautious, invite them on to us if you will, with King and Amartey relatively defensive, and trying to counter attack as we did last season. I'd be absolutely delighted with a win and a draw at the moment

No I don't.

He had a couple of decent games against PL low lights I seem to remember but that was with DD by his side.

This period SHOULD see a change in formation because he and King in the centre could well see us losing the three games Drinky is out for, and that may see us in the 'zone'.

Ifs and buts I know, but.....

He had a very impressive game earlier this season. I can't remember who it was against as I was still drinking then.

Watching recent Leicester games sober has been.... eye-opening.

Must have been a long while since we had a player that got banned for 3 games? Think Huth and someone else only got a 1-match ban after picking up a red in recent times.

Huth got a retrospective 3 game ban for pulling the mop.

Couldn't believe some fans were ripping into Drinkwater earlier (Blue Army TV - they've taken the post down). Absolutely fuming, wins the league, carries midfield all season and they have the cheek to have a pop? Behrami was using dirty 90's style tactics all game.

Albrighton playing CM in training

Doesn't have the physical strength in a challenge. DD is good at easing a player off the ball. If he is to play in the middle,   suspect we may go one up top and if so, that one will be slim as he is more likely to hold the play up and allow the midfield to fill the spaces.

Hopefully some kind of 4-2-3-1 with Kingy and Amartey in the 2, Okazaki ahead of them giving them a hand. 4-3-3 wouldn't work imo as you'd be shoehorning someone in as the third CM, at least with a 4231 everyone is playing roughly where they should be. Mahrez should be dropped imo, need people to put a proper shift in to help out. Albrighton and DG on the wings please.

We'll win at home, ranieri will think theyll be ok away and we'll get done away like we have in every fixture this year. I can deal with 442 at home but 442 without kante or drinkwater (or shinji) away is absolutely bonkers

This is likely. I have to say it's my exact concern.

Regardless of personnel, we need some energy, desire, snap and bite back about us.
