A piece in the Times says the us cities expected us to be relegated and it would be hard to sell tickets... so thay dont want us but do want man city, utd and the spuds.

But imo this is good news coz we need a propper preseason... last year the icc was a waste of time

Pile of cack that ruined our pre-season.

Not really arsed if we can't flog tickets to fairweather Yanks. Plenty of decent American fans already.

Good. Pointless tournament, get them in the alps like we used to.

Hinckley(not a club anymore), Lincoln, Mansfield, Corby etc pre season games back.

I wouldn't want us to go anyway.

At the time it was fun and exciting but in hindsight I wish we rejected the invitation last year (From a financial point of view I doubt the club would reject it though).

It was a bad thing to do, awful prep, awful pre season and arguably a reason (one of many) why we've been so poor this year, certainly a factor.

Hopefully if they'll struggle to sell tickets for minnows games such as ourselves it might put the yanks off the terrible 39th game idea.

i'm absolutey devastated that we'll now get a proper pre-season and go back to what was working perfectly fine for us...

Think we should give some League Two sides a visit for next season like Lincoln, Mansfield, Notts County and Coventry.

My memory may be short but I struggle to remember who were English champions before us and Chelsea.

Why would teams from Manchester be in a tournament for champions?

Dunno.

Why were Arsenal, Tottenham and Man City in the Champions League.

It was a bad distraction for us and a confidence destroyer, I just hope that we can get a proper "local" pre-season in UK or close European countries.

Hark at us lot lol

How much we've changed in the last 12 months....

Easy in hindsight to say the ICC is a load of bollux, but I remember the uncontrollable excitement on here when we were invited to play in it.

Now we're happy to bin in off and go back to local non league pre season friendlies. Makes me chuckle that's all...

I was thinking the same. It was a bit of a novelty for us after what we achieved last year.

It was good from the financial point of view, but detrimental to the fitness of the squad early in the season.

This year, a week in Austria or Sweden and some local games will set us up nicely.

Ooh. I see what you did there. ;)
