dannythefox Posted 10 July 2017 Posted 10 July 2017 I'd say 40m is about right in the market, right on the limit though. If it's more then no thanks.
RowlattsFox Posted 10 July 2017 Posted 10 July 2017 I think he's a good player but I don't think he's worth that kind of money. You can definitely find better value for a similar level of player.
Babylon Posted 10 July 2017 Posted 10 July 2017 Well if it's true about us offering £40m, I take that as a positive that we aren't mucking about. I certainly wouldn't go any higher than that, so move on and find someone else.

The only thing I can't get my head around is why didn't we put that offer on the table last summer!

Bezzanator89 Posted 10 July 2017 Posted 10 July 2017 A £50 million price tag is an absolute joke. Swansea are metaphorically shifting the goalposts. They slap a price-tag on the midfielder, and as soon as a club matches the valuation, they reject it and up the valuation again. Simply put, they are taking to p*** and trying to take Leicester to the cleaners. Let's not play this annoying little game anymore. Player valuations mean nothing anymore.

Happy Fox Posted 10 July 2017 Posted 10 July 2017 On the BBC http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/40550188 Swansea City have set an asking price of £50m for Gylfi Sigurdsson after rejecting an offer worth around £40m from Leicester for the midfielder. Sigurdsson, 27, scored nine goals and made 13 assists to help save the Welsh club from relegation last season. Everton have long been interested in the Iceland playmaker, who said in May he was "not trying to leave" the Swans. With the Toffees reportedly demanding £50m for Ross Barkley, Swansea would want the same for Sigurdsson. Sigurdsson has three years left on his contract, which he signed last year to become Swansea's highest paid player. He has scored 30 goals for the club since rejoining them in 2014 after an indifferent two-year spell at Tottenham. Sigurdsson is settled and happy to stay at the Liberty Stadium, though Everton could test the Swans' resolve with a significant offer.
goose2010 Posted 10 July 2017 Posted 10 July 2017 what people need to realise money litterally means nothing in football now.

I can't see us either changing formation or putting Sigurdsson as one of two centre mids. If KI is definitely happening, we'd be better signing someone that can play on the wing and in the middle than just an outright midfielder. A Cafu or a Boudebouz who'd cost a fraction of 40m.
Devonfox1884 Posted 10 July 2017 Posted 10 July 2017 Give them £40m + Ulloa as a final offer. Personally think Boudebouz looks better value now though, think I read that he's available for £15m? Imagine this though: Kasper Maguire Morgan New CB Albrighton Drinky Ndidi Fuchs/Chilly Siggy Vardy Iheanacho

Bamba's Babes Posted 10 July 2017 Posted 10 July 2017 1) HOLY CHIPSTICKS we've just bid £40M for a player hahahahaha. 2) How Donald Ducking annoying that it's been rejected... by Swansea. 3) Up the bid!!! 4) Mahrez has just had an extra £10M added to his value.
hejammy Posted 10 July 2017 Posted 10 July 2017 Even in todays market he's not worth £50m and good luck to any club who want to pay that much for him. I can't see it happening! He'll just stay at Swansea and be miserable.......actually....sounds familiar!?
jonny_wright Posted 10 July 2017 Posted 10 July 2017 If Sigurdsson goes so do Swansea... back to the championship

There's the context - if Everton value McCarthy at 25 mill and Barkley at 50million then if I was Swansea I think 50mill would sound about right for gylfi
cityfanlee23 Posted 10 July 2017 Posted 10 July 2017 Leicester sticking casual 40m bids in for top class players, I'm feeling dizzy
