Think the club deserves a lot of credit for paying the money to keep our stars like Drinky and Vardy. They've tried hard with Mahrez as well and didn't have a choice with Kante.

Unlike a a lot of players / clubs whose stars jump at the first big opportunity. I.e. Southampton

lol no idea he even had a misses!

ive said this before about players and form, at the end of the Day we forget they’re human sometimes (me included) him and his misses could have just gone through a nine month nightmare pregnancy for all we know and maybe even struggles beforehand... worth thinking about sometimes.

Yeah tomany seem to think because of the money nothing affects them.

I bet Rio would exchange every penny he's earned to change the last 12 months or so. What with his wife then his mum.

I think he's worth 30M at best and this just because of the inflated market. Unless you can somewhere unearth a gem like Ndidi I can't see any quality midfielder coming in the PL for less than 50M. Neymar's transfer will contribute to skyrocket the prices even more.

Your first 2 sentences contradict each other. If a quality midfielder is going to cost at least 50 mill then Drinky, being a quality midfielder, must be worth at least 50 mill.

What DD showed the last nine months doesn't belong to the performances of a quality midfielder. So, no, my sentences do not contradict each other and no, he's not worth 50M.

If Chelsea didn't believe he's a quality performer they wouldn't be after him, and that view is supported by Mark Schwartzer.

You seem to have forgotten Drinky's superb performances throughout our Premiership-winning campaign (and it would be wrong to credit that solely to playing alongside Kante as they were usually battling against 3 opponents in midfield).

Last season's dip, after an excellent start, can be explained by his having to run the midfield almost on his own until exhaustion dragged him down, and many on here suspected that he was carrying an injury throughout the 2nd half of the season).

He is arguably the most accomplished all-round English midfielder.

I did not forget his excellent performances and he should have at the Euro in 2016.

However and from what I've read here, he's not been exactly consistent since he came here with one good season and the next one being bang average. Chelsea are in the need of a back-up. He won't start unless Bakayoko is a flop. If Matic stayed there is no way they'd be after him and we'll see in the next weeks how serious they really are about him.

"Injury" you say, then he still must be injured because the pre-season is the exact continuation of his poor form from last season. Slowing the game, passing backwards and late on the man. Or he's downing the tools and sulking because he wants to move? Joke aside, I think that he simply was crap last season, just like the others, bar Kasper and Simpson to a certain extent. Not a popular opinion, I know.

As for the most accomplished all-round english midfielder, well that's your opinion.

Contract juicer. One quote from Chelsea, agent is doing his job and milking it to get DD a longer term deal (as agents do at this time of year). Won't be going anywhere.

He signed a new deal a year ago! That's not what's going on here.
