I think he is a great player, getting better and my worry is someone will come in with a huge offer in January and destabilise him. Liverpool would be favourites. Mahrez going and a big club coming in could mean he looks elsewhere in the summer.

I think we are safe for a bit longer with Harry. He’s still a bit raw. The very best sides won’t like those lunging challenges he makes that give away free kicks just outside our area.

But he’s gonna be even better imo. He’ll end up at Chelsea or somewhere.

Still needs to do defensive basics better, especially regarding his positioning.

past few goals have been down to him getting dragged across. but then, where is the left back?

id rather stick him up front when chasing a game then ulloa or slimani or iheanacho. better feet and better holding the ball than all of them lol

Modern day Walshy!

Looks very comfortable on the ball and I love his driving runs forward. Still doesn't look a solid rock that you expect to win all his challenges, but hopefully that comes with experience. He's got a bright future if he keeps progressing.

Definitely raw, which is why he ended up with us instead of a Manchester Club. I wonder what Guardiola thought about him actually, because he was better than any Man City defender at striding out with the ball and starting attacks.

At the moment he does make quite a lot of mistakes both positionally and with his passing, although these are fairly minor ones instead of calamitous ones that immediately cost us a goal. You've got to expect that to continue to happen for a few seasons yet, but the potential for Maguire is that if he can improve his positioning and passing that he could literally become one of the best defenders in the world! I genuinely mean that because he has both the physical frame and the inherent football intelligence to even think about the complete picture of the pitch in his head. That is what is so rare for any centre back, even those good on the ball. Whenever he gets the ball you can see his immediate thought is how to help bring it forwards and get his team going.Given that most defenders don't hit their peak till their 30's he has plenty of time to improve.

I hope he's here for a long time to come, because he's impressed quickly in a short space of time.

Totally agree.

Maguire has a few minor flaws that can be improved, and I'm sure he will, overall he's class. Look how utterly useless John Stones looked last season and look at his transformation now. Maguire has the same attributes as Stones.

"Big" club fans are genuinely retarded, seen all over Twitter Liverpool fans saying they should save 40m by signing Maguire instead of VVD. Do people still genuinely think we are some poor club that needs to sell??

Every time I read this thread title I want to make a lame dad joke and say something like “No kidding, he’s 188cm!”

It’s Christmas Eve and I just indulged myself with that one. You’re all welcome.
