I get you, it'd be awful having Maguire and Dragovic available and still ending up with Dad's army at the back.

It'll be the same when Silva's fit and actually our player. I don't mind Shakespeare, but as a number one I don't think he's got much control over that squad.

He's not going to change the formation anybody hoping for such is whistling in the wind.

It will be 442 usual line up, match tactics up in the air nobody knowing what they are doing and Shakes doing that impersonation we all know and love - the one of the fat bloke down the pub - singing the "get into em" chorus with Appleton

Yes, rumour has it that they can be snakes when the Manager wants to do things his way....lol

What you mean like:

Shakey calls Mahrez on transfer deadline day, after he's been underperforming for 12 months and he won't answer his calls while he's sitting in airport; then he continues to pick him?

Or letting the players decide who takes the penalties?

Both anecdotes from Shakey himself.

I'm definitely losing the plot! I meant to write Bournemouth, and wrote Brighton...

He hasn't been called up for the England squad with his hip injury, he may have trained but I cannot see him being risked for Bournemouth.

The solicitors I work at acted for somebody buying a beach hut at Sandbanks for a little over £200,000.00. Insane.

As far the game, I wasn't overly confident before the news on Vardy and less so now. Slimani and Okazaki looked much better, albeit against a second string Liverpool side, the other night so hopefully they can make a difference.

It seems though our squad are now getting all the injuries that have been accumulated over the past couple of seasons - can't wait for the day that all or at least most of Iheanacho, Vardy, Silva, Huth, James, Iborra etc are 100% match fit. I'd never wish an injury on a player, but it would mildly more comforting if those getting crocked weren't so imperative.

The first six games were always going to be tough. Bournemouth is now the most important match of the season: lose and it's the beginning of a slide. Win and it's the start of a turnaround. Full week's rest for the whole squad. I predict a high-octane performance on Saturday like we haven't seen in a long time.

Hmm, not sure I'd agree about Boscombe, some genuine slum areas around there but down towards the pier is nice!

we were expecting that at Huddersfield. Bournemouth are not too dissimilar in their play to them. we never look good against them - even when we won the league we couldn't make many decent chances against ten men for half an hour !

Interesting read with the Mercury's imaginatively and speculative article saying how Shakey is "NOT afraid to drop his big name stars"

The quote they exaggerate is “It doesn’t faze me leaving players out, or telling them they are not playing.”

Certainly from reading the story it's impossible to ascertain whether the context has been in the past, the present or for the future and also, to which players he's referring to, we may or may not ever find out.

This weekend his team, formation and tactics will be one of the most eagerly anticipated of his career so far.

Whilst many are predicting a 4-4-2, same team, same tactic and as much continuity as possible from the past 6 games, I feel if he doesn't get them right this weekend and we lose, then he will be faced with a fixed term win or go ultimatum by the board.

It's been our hardest start to the Premier League since we went up in 2014, but that game against Huddersfield is the one he needs to think about.

This game will be similar, yet we need to attack more.

For this, I'd go with the broken record formation cry of 4-3-3.

I know it's so dull and I'm sure I could copy and paste my posts from when Ranieri was struggling last season, but we really do need an alternative approach.

Whilst its obvious the effort and intensity cannot be compared with this time least year, the brick wall we keep coming up against certainly can.

                 Schmeichel

Simpson Maguire Morgan Fuchs

           Ndidi Iborra Chilwell

             Marez Vardy Gray

Chilwell is the obvious ringer here, I just feel he could play better than the available in this role.

All that said, I still feel any talk of dropping players, ultimately, will have to fit within his 4-4-2 model.

Never understand why people seem to think Mahrez is a winger. Play like this to win.

Schmeichel

Simpson          Morgan    Maguire           Fuchs

Gray                  Iborra            Albrighton

Mahrez

Iheanacho        Vardy

Ndidi and Okazaki on bench

Vardy/ Ian Nacho if not fit

I agree that this is it. All the problems now are in midfield. With Drinkwater and James out, there's nobody to reverse direction and pass to the strike force. Silva could do it but is held hostage by FIFA. Iborra can do it, but he is still getting his legs.

So, the solution is to put Iborra in the center supported by the hardest working guys in the squad. That means Gray, Ndidi, and Albrighton in the midfield, and Okazaki up front with Vardy.

Mahrez on the bench to ponder his life until the midfield is sorted out.

Can't afford any lapses on defense. Fuchs in for Chilwell. Catapult throw-in will be handy too.

Iheanacho in for Okazaki when he burns himself out.

Slimani in for Vardy if his hip is acting up.

If Leicester are up 2-0 and Iborra is tired, Andy King in to throw the door bolt.

Too bad we don't get paid the big bucks for figuring all this out for the management.

Oh because, I don't know, he ripped the league to pieces when we won it playing there?
