Nantes are 5th in France and just two points from 2nd place. Their manager, one Claudio Ranieri ...

they'll be relegated next season then

Because we are hardly going to sack him and give it Appleton whilst we mess around finding a manager.

So you are saying we will have a new manager in before Saturday then? This is LCFC you are talking about remember. The problems lie alot deeper than the manager.

****ing hell I think he should have been sacked but didn't think the owners would pull the trigger so early.

Rudkin next please, before he employs some absolute melt who we will end up sacking in 5 months.

PLEASE DO NOT GIVE IT TO APPLEBOTTOM JEANS

Nigel Pearson i reckon.

Maybe but thinking about it, Nigel and Shakey are best mates would he really want to get his best mate the sack.

Remember the first match vs Liverpool after Raneri was sacked. One of our best displays.

What was it someone said today. The Dead Cat bounce?

Swansea will be an interesting match to look forward to now (I was dreading it)

In effect sacked by the backroom guys ineptness.

If we are not totally clueless then we should have a manager appointed by next Tuesday/Wednesday latest. but this is Leicester after all.

He'll just hire him as his assistant haha.

I say that jokingly, but with us being the Harchester of real life, it'll probably happen.

Thankyou for your hard work and dedication Shakey.

You are one of the best investments this club ever made for your work as assistant, many times when the boat has been rocked you've been a stabilising factor through transitions.

However as a manager you were found out at this level, I've no doubt one day you'll be back managing this level, but first you need to drop a division to ply your trade as a manager.

All tbe best.

Thought they might have given him a few more games to improve our position but ultimately I'm not that surprised. Disappointed as I think he would've made the necessary changes given the chances but I don't feel broken like I did with Pearson or Ranieri.

The obligatory list of thank yous:

- The magnificent performance against Sevilla at home. My favourite ever game? Not sure, but bloody close if not.

- A great effort against Atletico Madrid. It takes some ability and charisma for a manager to have the team come out and batter Atletico the way we did in the last 45 minutes of the tie.

- Turned our league campaign around as we slid towards trouble in February.

- No doubt played a significant role behind the scenes in the 13/14, 14/15 and 15/16 seasons - all of which were enormous triumphs for this club.

Craig, thank you. You aren't as popular as Claudio or Nige but I know you've done a fair bit for us, chap.

Sad news but definately the right call. Time for the club to show a bit of ambition now. We need a clear out of all the backroom staff and Rudkin too. Lets start again.

Good riddanace? More pathetic stuff from our fans about someone who has been a great servant to the club.

Sad it didn't work out and he's been stitched up by Rudkin who I hope also goes. I'd have given him another couple of games, but the owners will have their ear to the ground at the club and things can't have been good for them to act so quickly.

All the best Craig... now please god can we do some sodding research this time.

Was set up to fail, as wasn't experienced enough, should have had an old experienced head with him, and amateur stuff above him.

I agree, time for the under performing employees at all levels need clearing out, clean house, fresh start.

Maybe!

According to a friend in France he's been easily the most impressive manager in the league though. Nantes had a poor team with little investment and their chairman is a bit nuts. But after losing their first two games they've been unbeaten since. He'll never come back (nor do I think it's a good idea), but despite how bad our form was last year, Claudio is a great manager on his day as we all know :).

Optimistically I'd hope for Tuchel or Ancelotti, reality is Allardyce or Pardew. I like Craig Shakespeare but he did look out of his depth sadly as a number 1.

Whoever comes in next needs to change our style. If we have another 442 merchant we will struggle to make top 10.

Are you all, those who written him off from the start, happy now?..

Not really no, but yes I did write him off. I supported him whilst he was here, but felt he would fail. But no, I'm not happy.

Need to spunk a ton of cash on the only man who brings enough of a name to keep our players here, being in better quality in the future and guide us towards the top again:

Benitez.

One down and one to go in Rudkin the wonder pony then hopefully we can get back to where we should have building to 18 months ago after winning the league.....a top 6 team.

Wow, quite shocked that it went so quickly. I gave him until the end of the month. Really sad for him but the writing was on the wall.

Who's gonna take over then?

He was a bit like Eric Morcambe on the piano, he played all the right notes but not necessarily in the right order.

Superb, take a bow on that one.:schmike:
