Plays a lot deeper than I thought, he was just in front of the back four with five players ahead of him for much of that video.

God moaning!  IMO (of course) the most important thing anyone can do with our midfield atm. is to get them running forwards into the space where people can pass to them between the opposition players, esp. inside the wingers - so many times on Friday Albrighton etc. would have the ball on the touch line, with a gap infield, but no midfielder would run forwards for him to pass to them though the gap - (especially on the run towards their defence...)  Watching other teams play like that is just so frustrating right now   Ndidi and Iborra like to hang back too much - if Silva can get forward into space where people can (and should!) pass him the ball then it would be a big improvement.

This guy looks class. I think the change of manager will suit him as his style looks better suited for a more technical game. When we were linked with him with Ranieri in charge he was an exciting player, but you were never really sure he would fit into our team and seemed like a bit of a luxury signing. A bit like how Slimani and Ihenacho are big money signings but can't get into the team. But given the way things have turned out, I think the stage is set for him. With his current debacle and his place in the Portugal team not assured, I think he will be super motivated to perform, which can only help us.

Looks to me like a box to box ball player a more technical version of drinkwater. Looks like he always looking for a 1-2 or a pass and go. Our players just pass and stand still.

It's the move into space to receive the ball that's the real problem, esp. in midfield - (see my previous post).
