If he (Iheanacho) improved his game 1000% he would still be behind Vardy, Okazaki, Slim, Ulloa, Musa and Thomas - so why rob these players (who at least put in some effort) of the chance to represent the club and improve THEIR game?
Gerard Posted 14 January 2018 Posted 14 January 2018 I don't think we'll see the likes of Barnes and the younger players due to the Checkatrade trophy match the day after. It will be a good opportunity to reintroduce Huth and if Iheanacho and Slimani are staying they need to play in a game like this. I think we may even see Musa because Barnes will probably play the day after. --------------Slimani----------------- ----Musa Iheanacho Gray-------- ----------Iborra Silva------------------ Fuchs Huth Benalouane Amartey ------------Jakupovic------------------ 1

Vardy, Okazaki and Ulloa are over 30 and established first team players whose game is pretty much well known by the management. Slimani (29) is much better than people give him credit for and is an experienced striker around Europe. Puel knows his attributes and he can often have a great game when conditions are perfect (Huddersfield). Musa has been given chance after chance and has proven he is simply not good enough. Thomas is doing well for the U23s but isn't quite ready for the first team yet. Iheanacho has had 190 minutes game time (two League starts) out of a possible 2070 minutes in the Premier League after dealing with an injury, having very little preseason and being expected to play roles he's not used to. He's 21 and will only improve if actually given game time. 3

In many ways I hope you are right, but his approach just seems to lack the necessary drive, hunger and attitude. (Oh, and skill !!!)
Chester Dontlie Posted 14 January 2018 Posted 14 January 2018 (edited) Wouldn't it be nice to see Vards play against them now that he's fit. Quite a trip down the memory lane... Even better if he would score. I hope CP will give him some game time In case anyone missed it, here's a week old article on Vardy's return to Fleetwood Town. Good read http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2018/01/05/wrapping-cars-cling-film-tying-shoelaces-together-cutting-socks/ Edited 14 January 2018 by Chester Dontlie
Wymsey Posted 15 January 2018 Author Posted 15 January 2018 James and King should be given the opportunity to play together imo, as reckon they can create a good partnership against lesser/weakened opposition.

Thanks but no thanks. Both played against Fleetwood and as we all saw, it worked wonders. 4
foxes21 Posted 15 January 2018 Posted 15 January 2018 Schmeichel Amartey, Dragovic, Maguire, Fuchs Diabate, Iborra, Silva, Gray Barnes Vardy Lets see what Diabate & Barnes can do infront of a home crowd 2

James may be carrying a bit of a knock and had a hard game against Chelsea. Either way I never want to see that combination again. King for a senior pro against Fleetwood previously, was woeful. Mr sideways/backwards even managed to go missing against a division 1 team, a new record even for him. Sad but just can't see the point of him any more, just clogs up a team place for one of our up and comings who I'd sooner see play for the experience and make a few errors than just another senior warm body on the pitch who is without influence. 2
Devonfox1884 Posted 15 January 2018 Posted 15 January 2018 While I want to see Diabate play, isn't there a rule that if a player wasn't registered for the original tie he can't play in the replay? 1

Farrington fox Posted 15 January 2018 Posted 15 January 2018 Silva must play. I want to win this convincingly. Anything less will be unacceptable, make sure the team you play can deliver, Claude!

filbertway Posted 15 January 2018 Posted 15 January 2018 Jakupovic Amartey Hughes Maguire Fuchs Iborra Silva Mahrez Gray Thomas Vardy Give Mahrez and Vardy 55-60 minutes then bring them off for Barnes and Slim. Also wang Albrighton in at right back if Amartey's getting tired.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 15 January 2018 Posted 15 January 2018 Put out a strong team, get it won in the first half. Agree that Amartey should probably get a rest. Kingy captain just to wind people up. 3-0 oosh.
foxes21 Posted 15 January 2018 Posted 15 January 2018 Amartey is a physical beast, never injured or tired so imo he doesn’t need a rest. Didn’t he play in the AFCON a couple days before the Derby match last year and then played 120mins ?? He’ll be fine.

Correct Quote All players must have been eligible to play in the original tie in order to play in a replayed or postponed match; however a player who has been suspended according to the disciplinary procedures under the Rules of The Association may play in a postponed or replayed match after the term of his suspension has expired. 1

Callabinho Posted 15 January 2018 Posted 15 January 2018 So he (diabetes) will be eligible to play in the next round if we succeed in this?
les-tah Posted 15 January 2018 Posted 15 January 2018 has enough quality last time.. main issue was the formation . I think the 442 with Iborra silva in should dominate. (hopefully)
Realist Guy In The Room Posted 15 January 2018 Posted 15 January 2018 Jakupovic Benny Huth Dragovic Albrighton Iborra Silva Gray Iheanacho Slimani Musa
Max Wall Posted 15 January 2018 Posted 15 January 2018 We somehow have to get Nacho moving, I'm hoping he starts. Kasper Armartey, Drago, Huth, Fuchs King, Silva, Iborra Gray, Barnes, Nacho
