If he's still here at the start of July I'm going to start a JustGiving page so we can have a whip-round for his loyalty bonus.

Good luck with that.

I pledge a couple of old buttons and a piece of string.

When does pre-season commence?

Can imagine, given the current situation, that he'll arrive as expected to training.

I think I've read ours starts next Monday on the 2nd July and Man City's is a week later.

I'd imagine Mahrez will be excused from attending ours but Man City will surely want Mahrez to sort his future out one way or the other sometime in the next 10 days. If he's still haggling with Leicester over his "loyalty bonus" when he should be starting pre season in Manchester they may threaten to pull the plug.

Right now this is the only thing that is definite.

https://www.lcfc.com/teams/first-team

although according to that, we've got 3 Ben Hamers, 3 Robert Huths and 3 Aleksandar Dragovics, who's photos have mysteriously gone transparent, like in Back to the Future

Hamer’s is still there so Marty still has time to finish playing Earth Angel.

Why?

This transfer would not be taking place at all at this price if he didn’t want to leave. Not only that, he has militantly agitated to go.

If reports are to be believed  he’s technically withdrawn his transfer request but has made it clear that he will kick up a stink if the deal doesn’t go through. This is a blatant manipulation.

Ideally all clubs should stand together against this sort of agent/player power.

I personally just think he deserves something for being a major player in us winning the league and us getting to the quarter finals of the Champions League.  Seeing as we are getting approximately 166 times as much as we paid for him and him being one of the greatest players to ever wear the shirt.  Yes he has been a mardy bum, hence why he shouldn't get the exact amount he wants.

How much did he cost us last season though for not turning up until the last 2 games of the season!

I'm just grateful for what he did for us when we did the unthinkable.  Glass half full or half empty scenario.

I would like him to leave though so we can put this saga to bed.

Unfortunately this abuse has been created due to an (Alledged) demand for a loyalty payment.  This despite asking for a transfer and going on ‘strike’ for two weeks (in beach of contract), a strike which many feel was fundamental to our season falling apart.  So really this abuse is self induced. I just wish he would go now to avoid more abuse and let our Cub move on to our next phase.  But if he asking for 7.5m, he can fvck off.

I couldn't give a damn whether he gets it or not but it's just sour grapes anyone who begrudges him it.

He won us a Premier League title and got us to a Champions League QF and the £100m+ that earned the club. We're now going to sell him for a £74.5m profit so even if he has his £7.5m that's still £67m all whilst taking out about £15m in wages in 4.5 years.

He's undoubtedly the best buy in the club's history and if he walks away with a few million quid then he deserves it.

Ruskin hasn't dropped a clanger with his contract without realising has he?.....

Contracts in the pro game follow a pfa approved format. So no.

In what way? These sorts of clauses are fairly common place aren't they. It only stands out because the fee would be so high.

He probably has been walked over, a bit  because he seemed to get walked over a lot at the start with all the buy out clauses he was allowing people. But I don't think it's much to worry about.

Knowing what agent he has now ( a massive d...) I'm wondering if this has come from his agent and not from Mahrez himself. If Mahrez really wanted the move as a 'dream move' or wants out of Leicester that bad he would want it sorted. To me, all this "loyalty bonus" talk stinks of a greedy, arrogant, ball bag of an agent trying to get one over the the club. I can imagine our owners are wearing #nofuchsgiven t-shirts at the mo

Depends whether our arguing over his ‘loyalty bonus’ has led to his team employing a top legal person to peruse the contract and they have found something ..........  that wouldn’t be rudkin’s fault though - he isn’t a lawyer (unless he declined legal advice at the time).

Riyad has a voice (albeit a whiny one) and can tell his wanky ‘agent’ what he wants him to do for him. The agent is being paid by Mahrez, if all this is correct then he’s begging for the bonus too. Unless Riyad is that weak-willed which I doubt very much.

Mahrez is still complicit, he's the one who sat with Sky at the end of the season saying he's withdrawing his transfer request. It was pretty obvious at the time why.
