I think we need a no nonsense manager to sort out our dressing room because it runs further than the manager. This is the third manager in about 14 months they've stopped playing for. The perfect fit for sorting that out would be MON and Roy Keane for me.

Was with you up until that last sentence.

Riskier appointment but I'd take him over Puel who has clearly lost the players and fans.

I like that Wagner has a great relationship with both fan and players - this is where Puel has come unstuck. He's also young and the sort of manager that could help build a core and new way of doing things over the next few years. I could see him doing well here.

In terms of names we are being linked with, Benitez would make me feel the most secure. Our current form is relegation material and as West Brom, Stoke and Southampton have proved this season, you can go from "established" to relegation in the blink of an eye. Benitez has only ever done a "poor" job at the most elite of clubs like Real Madrid and Inter Milan. His two La  Liga titles and a Champions League (and another final) put him comfortably ahead of anyone else. Wagner and Silva I think would be better than Puel, but there would always be the element of the unknown about them. And as proven this season, if results were poor, the crowd could turn against them. I really don't want to go through another relegation battle!

Wagner is given time and patience by the Huddersfield board and fans. Here he'd be hounded out by Xmas.

What happens if his style and tactics is not accepted by the players? Then what?

I honestly think we have bigger problems than Puel.

Nonsense.

We have no bigger problem now or for the future of the club than the incumbent manager.

Virtually none of the players we currently ‘own’ believe in him or his methods.

If he stays the better players we have will leave.

Yes, Rudkin is a problem and should be moved on, but if Puel’s stays we will do very well to stay in this division next season.

Some of our players are a big problem as well. Ranieri, Shakespeare and now Puel, that's 3 managers they have downed tooled on.

What happens if Wagner or Dyche cones in and we still have these same players not taking on the tactics and style of the new manager in 12 months time?

Any idea when the "spending whatever it takes" will start, considering them putting their hand in their own pockets stopped about 4 years ago.

Take it you’ve overlooked the fact we’re in the top 10 for net spend over the past 5 seasons on top of the fact they’ve bank rolled the club near on £100m since taking over?

No manager will succeed here unless we change the culture of the club, and that includes the fans as well.

The mames being mentioned here (Dyche, Howe, Wagner) all have the total support from their board and fans. They are given time  (years) to build what they want. They are not hounded out after 6 months. Bournemouth for example have gone on some horrific runs over the years. Howe wouldn't last here with some of the attitudes amongst our fans. Burnley got relegated. I accept we are bigger than both clubs but the point still remains the culture at LCFC is toxic.

Yes you are right Puel is doing a great job here.

You are also spot on with your assessment of who is to blame for results of the team; It is not Puel at all.

- It is the fans that are to blame for shit boring tactics, almost no shots on goal game after game, no home wins in 4 months, setting up to nullify our own player’s strengths, picking players totally out of form over others who are clearly better (Morgan / Dragovic)....Etc.

I have to commend you for getting 10 likes from a post blaming the fans / paying public  for the manager’s and club’s failings this season.

Top 10... with the likes of Watford and Palace. Not really "spending what it takes". They want top 6 they need to spend top 6 money.

Let's not forget a lot of that £100m was debt they added to the club in the first place. Add in interest payments they've received etc and it's not what people perhaps think.

Its no slight on them, they have been fantastic for us. But their mantra since getting in the prem had been about being self sustained.

Our budget is and has been limited by what we earn, they have been no signs of them actually spending what we'd need to to compete regularly in those positions.

Have you looked at the budget & players he’s working with before making your decision on his management skills? The fact they got out of the Championship let alone surviving their 1st season in the Prem is remarkable!

Take the time to research his career and I’m sure your opinion of him will be different to that of him being a ‘wanky Jurgen Klopp tribute act’

Obviously their squad needed an overhaul but they've still spent £50m+ this season. He's done very well at a club with low expectations, it's completely the opposite here. I've looked into his career and record before and it's hardy inspiring. He wouldn't be the worst option by any means but he's probably not the right man for the job.

Agree on this.

We've made a profit each season we've been in the premier league which suggests we're living within our means as opposed to a sugar daddy funding.

The only way in which I see the owners injecting money into the club is financing the stadium expansion or training ground, and these kinds of expenditures don't even figure into FFP. I don't think they will however, and that means our transfer budget for the next couple of seasons will be strained. Can't see how the club can finance an £80m training ground, probably North of £15m (our stadium had a ~£1200 per seat cost if memory serves) for the stadium expansion and new summer recruitment for the next few seasons given how many contracts we have expiring and players ageing, despite with how much money we made last season and the season prior, I just can't see how it can be reasonably financed unless we only buy when we sell (Mahrez probably paying for the summer).

With the TV money we could sustain probably £20m a year in transfer outlays so any other expenditure is going to be through players sales. This summer we'll still have a decent amount because of (hopefully) recouping some of the outlay on Musa, Mendy and Slimani as well as Mahrez who is obviously going to got for ~£60m.

This is where we need long term stability and foresight as Maguire is only centreback with a contract not expiring this summer or next. So we probably need to sign two in the summer as well as a rightback. In the following summer Fuchs is out of contract too so we need to sort this sharpish.

They went about six months without scoring a goal didn't they? Fvck that. Hardly an antidote to what we've got now.

Have you seen their squad?!
