Safe to assume he's fit enough to play then. Suppose we're watching out for lack of match fitness, sloppy defending and lethargy as reasons why he hasnt made a matchday squad for us yet

Seems to about cover it from what I’ve seen so far.

Half time verdict

Positives

Fit, enthusiastic, quick, distributes accurately with both feet, decent in the air

Negatives

Positioning not great, loses his man too easily (Dzyuba), dives in a bit

Given tonight and the World Cup I’m actually starting to believe Dzyuba is actually a very good player.... the big ugly bastard lol

Could this lad break the record for being written off by FoxesTalk?

Was there someone we wrote off in the summer either playing a club friendly or pre world cup friendly? Cant recall who that was but the player in question got slated massively.

As far as I can see @Jaspa is simply saying what he has seen.

Why does criticism always have to mean writing someone off completely?

I didn't read it like that at all to be honest. Many here were throwing ish at Ricardo in his only World Cup appearence where he wasn't at his best, I said the same as foxfanazer that evening - it's one game in another squad, under pressure ect.

He didnt look great tonight but no-one did for Turkey. It's up to Puel when to put Soyuncu ahead of Wes & Evans. I'll only have an opinion on him when I've seen enough, overall so far is very encouraging, we just have one too many CBs of high quality it seems.

And that is something that I feared/expected to never be said about us.

Happy with that as a dilemma.

With Benkovic out on loan too it's crazy. I always think(from years of FIFA & FM experience) you always need 2 players for each position, we play two centrebacks so Wes, Maguire, Evans & Soyuncu for 2cb spots is a good fit - problem is Wes is the longstanding heroic Captain who is still looking six or seven out of ten most weeks, Evans is seasoned veteran who started most games at every club he's been at and is in his prime, Maguire an undroppable slab at the back and Soyuncu a full international with tonnes of potential and was apparently(off here) promised starting 11 when signed. It tells me we need to phase Wes out in the kindest and most honest, respectful way whilst giving starts to Soyuncu, keeping Evans happy and still having space for Harry Mags.

We are absolutely stacked at the back, which could maybe even also suggest we're preparing to lose Maguire aswell as phase Morgan out, or we swich to three CBs.

This

Don’t think anyone’s writing him off, just saying he hasn’t shown much in this match (I’ve only seen the first half :)). He doesn’t look fully fit to me, hardly surprising.

Remember Ricardo being turd in the world cup? He took some pelters, hasn't turned out too bad lol.

Didn't he arrive with an injury? Seems a bit harsh to judge a half fit player.

Mind you, Evans got the same treatment, so at least we are unfair to everyone! lol

Exactly!

You can't say we're not consistent.

Evans was given a comparatively enormous time to prove himself: we waited until he'd played 30 minutes of football in his new team. Such luxuries aren't given lightly.
