No chances? De Gea made 2 very good saves and Vardy missed a great chance, as well as scoring. ManUre created little more than that. Their first goal was from a ridiculous error and the second after Shaw miscontrolled the ball but it fell very kindly for him. In general play we were superior by some distance in my view. Can't understand why Puel subbed Madison, though.

Probably a precautionary measure more than anything. Been injured during the Lille friendly, so no point in risking his health any longer.

Better be fit for Wolves at home next week, that'll do nicely.

Overall a decent display.

we looked quite positive and more forward thinking than the back end of last season.

Good displays from Ricardo, Chilwell, Gray, Maddison, and even Ghezzal when he came on.

Not Iheanacho’s best game, but did get into decent positions.

Amartey was poor, and for all the haters who will disagree with me, I’d have much preferred Simpson in that spot if we are to play Ricardo further on like we did first half. At least Simmo is solid defensively, even if he doesn’t offer anything going forward.

Didn’t think Maddison was the man to take off with Vardy coming on, but I’m guessing it was more to do with his spat with Fred which was bubbling away a bit.

I’m not too disappointed, but for me the real questions will be asked at home vs Wolves, in front of a home crowd, with a more up to speed squad.

If you honestly believe Jose out managed Puel tonight I’m sorry but you haven’t a clue. We out played them for long periods. They created very little and the shaw goal was so fortunate because his first touch landed unintentionally in a good place.

What a the score again? Outplayed my arse.

Sure... We had 4 clear chances and only converted 1 of them. Even according to xG stats we should have won.

That does include Vardy's 93rd minute goal that must be as close to 1 xG as possible. Makes it a little less representative of what actually happened in the game.

Very pleased with the performance and effort of the players tonight.

Considering it was away at Old Trafford, with a few new signings and players coming back at different stages from the World Cup, I dont really have any complaints.

Although Man U dropped deep we played some decent football tonight and made a few chances, and Man U created little.

Thought Maddison had a great game, only reason I think he came off was that he was on a yellow.

We look to have the makings of a very decent young side, I hope Puel gets the time to implement his ideas now he has a few of “his signings” in.

If we play like we did today, we shouldn’t have too many problems this season, and will be exciting to watch.

Played brilliant in the first half, but we were ****ing awful in the second.

Oh and if anyone hadn't noticed our defence is pathetic.

That won't be our defence in a game or two.

*Before we've seen Mad and Vardy share the field.

Wtf do people watch? We TOOK the fuching ball over and over from Man u. You seriously think Mourinho wanted to watch us pick his boys pockets at home the entire first half? Come off it.

I've not seen Madison do anything that changes my mind, I'm happy to be proven wrong.

Saying that, we played probably our best and manure at its worst, that says something

Urgh.

I really dislike the way we are going, going on about posession stats or xG stats or any other ****ing stat, we took the piss out of Spurs fans for doing that but now it suits us and alter's arugment we're all over it all of a sudden.

The main stat is we lost and it was the case last season aswell despite people claiming we won on such and such a stat.

xG stats saying we should have won or not, we didn't.

Of course it does, it was a chance we created... Would be stupid to not include it wouldn't it?

first 10  minutes we were awful and I thought here we go. but we were outstanding from then on, we have to remember we are playing away at old trafford and they will get chances but another day we'd have walked away with a draw or win. Maddison bossed it Chilwell was lovely. Seriously if this team clicks we'll have some really exciting games to watch this season.

We've got sogning and players in the squad that are going to come in and strengthen us. it's a positive start from me.

Fine margins went Utd's way today. Can't really gift a goal to the best bus in football.

Looked like we ran out of steam in the 2nd half, but lot of encouraging signs. Ricardo and Maddison (until he ran out of steam) looked impressive in their debuts. Wish Gray and Silva both were a bit sharper and quicker; Silva gave away or put pressure on teammates with some poor passing and Gray slowed things too much. We played against a well oiled defensive unit though.

Might as well add Darmianlol

Wait.... So am I right in thinking, that the 3 I mentioned you wouldn't class as world class? Mate forget smoking something I think you've either completely lost the plot or you have some extremely high standards.... (I'm guessing it's the previous)

Read my post. There was an assertion we created no chances, this reliable stat states we created better chances than United did. Where is the issue?

Carragher is a twat sorry but he is. Only thing we didnt get was at least a draw. I really hate having to listen to that scouse dull, boring idiot. We were denied two stonewall pens, bet he didnt mention those.

agreed sounded right bitter, sure he said Ian Nacho as well

I hope you're right.

I just can't help but think it's a case of "In Morgan Puel Trust's" though.

The guy is seriously one of the most overrated players ever. He hasn't exactly set the Premier League alight has he? Apart from him, who else would you include?

Just because Jose stifles Pogba doesn't mean he is a bad player, just a badly managed one.

Much to be optomistic about, but still work to do.
