Played some nice stuff at times, backed up with desire to win the ball back, especially from gray. Just need to find that extra angle in the final third.

Would prefer Iborra in instead of silva, who had a frustrating evening.

Lots of positives to take, onwards and upwards.

Pleasing display and just a few brain farts away from a great result. Wes and Amartey are not starters though, in case that still isn’t clear. Good to see some of the younger players look more authoritative and confidently though, and get 90 mins at OT.

Positive is the best way to describe that.

We were the better team in the first half, controlled things well, Ricardo, Maddison, Chilwell and Gray were brilliant in that half. Second half wasn't as good but it was decent enough, Silva though was garbage in the second half, gave the ball away far too many times.

I thought Chilwell and Gray were our most consistent players today, they looked dangerous throughout but for Chilwell he needs to improve his crossing.

All I wanted was a positive performance tonight and that's what we got, we just need to cut out the sloppiness especially from midfield.

Performance. Good.

Result. Not good.

Played well, but again lacked any sort of a clinical side when we were on top. Couldn’t get into the second half until late on. Ref should’ve sent one of their players off and we’ve already had a stonewall penalty turned down. Man Utd got pretty much every rub of the green, every second ball, bounce and every 50/50 decision.

Defence did look a bit shaky but we’ve got big reinforcements to come along there. I still think we look a bit thin in wide areas but we must give Ghezzal time to settle in. I thought we were great at getting the ball wide but either the delivery was really poor or there was no one in the box.

Maddison, Ricardo and Gray (albeit very greedy) looked decent. Chilwell did too, I just wish he had more of a brain.

For all the positivity, and there is plenty to be positive about - regards the 1st half anyway, please bare in mind that was a poor, bang average Man Utd, who were there for the taking and we didn't - Something we struggled to do to team's last season.

For all the posession and domination we rarely troubled them.

Go ahead with the positivity there are positives but just bare that in mind before getting ahead of ourselves.

Don't get seduced with that so called possession. Mourinho took Puel for a mug tonight and let us have the ball and we created virtually bugger all. Iheanacho not a patch on Vardy when the matches get serious. Would like to have seen Maddison stay on and Nacho off but there you go.

We weren’t unlucky. We barely made any chances. Good football at times though and I’m not worried. Bring on Wolves.

No chances? De Gea made 2 very good saves and Vardy missed a great chance, as well as scoring. ManUre created little more than that. Their first goal was from a ridiculous error and the second after Shaw miscontrolled the ball but it fell very kindly for him. In general play we were superior by some distance in my view. Can't understand why Puel subbed Madison, though.

We need a more complete striker, someone with a bit of target man in him in addition to a lot of the tools Vards brings. Iheanacho doesn't deserve to be called a bust exactly, but he doesn't do much for us if he isn't fed the ball 10 yards from goal with time to set up and shoot.

That said, I am keen to see Maddison and Vardy share the pitch, he looks like he may be able to unlock Vards like Shinji does. And I'm hopeful some of the younger players like Gray and Chilwell can feast a bit against the lesser lights of the league and get the confidence and experience to start fuching finishing in these bigger games...

I’m not as sure as a lot of people seem to be. I genuinely don’t know whether we are gonna be perfectly ok this season, or crash and burn.

I’m very undecided on this.

Some positives overall but ..

...We Lost

...not unexpected but we will get turned over by lesser sides if we cannot improve the final ball.

Our back 4 is less than inspiring but the new signings will settle and Wes will be eased out in time.

Sadly Mid/ lower table here we come?

If those are your thoughts, we probably don't see what you see .

Sure... We had 4 clear chances and only converted 1 of them. Even according to xG stats we should have won.

Not sure what some people are smoking here! It's away to Manchester United, a team full of world class players

We played really well, but I can't think of one Man Utd player who I would describe as world class

Echo pretty much everyone here.

Nice to see us play some good football but we rarely laid a glove on them.  Bit like watching England in the summer.

If we can figure that out we could be in for a decent season.

However....we looked shit hot at times against Arsenal in the first game last season too.  Things didn't go so well after that.

We have just lost to

Manchester United away at old Trafford and on the whole played really well. Yet still people moan that we only lost to united. Give them a break there are far

more positives then negatives

Well Pogba just won the World Cup I think that would be a good starting point
