Time for a break from this place again.

Sick of getting hounded and told what opinions I should and shouldn't have.

If you want a discussion which we may or may no agree with by all means that's fine, just going to make petty comments, what's the point on even voicing the opinions.

I don’t get the whole having a win shoved down your throat thing,as if you didn’t want it.Weve won 3 times in a week, great but we’ve also failed at harder tests,The Everton game will be a better benchmark to see if we’ve turned a corner. Just ignore them,it says more about them when they feel they have a need to be proved right and also believe they have been proved right in such a short space of time.

Great win today. Sure, Newcastle were poor but the most pleasing thing was that we were disciplined.

I do expect a tougher game against Everton next week but we'll be approaching it with confidence after three wins in a row.

Control the key word really. Dominated possession, limited the mistakes and kept them at bay as an attacking force. Took our chances where they came which in this case was set pieces. Good work.

Mendy my MOTM but a team effort really

Maguire MOTM? Should have given away a blatant penalty and the last ditch tackle was only because he was miles out of position originally and they got in behind him?

So happy!!   Some you win some you lose.....if you hadn't noticed that football....

Oh why didn't you mention his top tackles....or are you on a crusade...just to prove some unbalanced point!!!

Newcastle have not allowed more than 2 goals yet in the Prem, and they have played Spurs, @Man City, and Arsenal. They just held Palace to a scoreless draw, far more than we have done lately vs. CP.

So... I get why people find this match boring, but Newcastle is exceedingly well-drilled defensively -- they hunt in packs and were very effective double-teaming us when we tried to advance up the sidelines. They seem to set up for a draw then open up after 75 min or so to try to steal it, so there just weren't many opportunities for us today, they filled space exceedingly very well.

With all that said I still saw at least three very high quality efforts in the first half we easily could've scored -- including Ricardo's shot from 8 yards out where he went near post and Maguire's header off the corner he sent into the ground. I couldn't watch all of the 2nd bc of my kid, we obv had a 4th w/Maguire's goal, then we seemed to get pretty defensive and ran out the clock w/some ball control from what I could watch.

Folks, we're not last season's Man City squad. We don't have the right to expect incredibly entertaining away wins. Any road win in the Prem is a good win. Based on what we did tactically, we had another attacking gear we could've reached for, but we played this one a bit more conservatively, and we took a well-deserved win.

Great work, lads!

Comfortable win, albeit against a side going through a bit of a rough patch.

Pleased with the clean sheet and cohesiveness of the side!

Newcastle's "rough patch" is about fifty years now...

But that is the very point.  We do not need to "change" as we didn't jump to the worst possible conclusion from the off.  We are not saying Puel is the Messiah, simply that he gets too much stick.  You think we are being "fickle"" and changing our minds but you fail to realise we just didn't start from the same, unusual, starting point as you so we don't need to be fickle.  Most of the people on here that you seem to think are too positive or fickle just react badly to people being so negative it hurts, they are reactionary more than anything.

Jump? I’ve been saying the same about Puel since February I don’t think that’s jumping to anything,He started this season making the same mistakes as last,as I said it’s been a good week, should we continue to get results performances and keeping a settled team then maybe I will start to change my mind about him.

Lost one of our best players of all time in Mahrez and still doing well with a very young squad. UTF! Puel doing a good job so far this season. Thry are struggling big time but can only beat who is put in front of us and 3 points in the bag.

Good solid performance from each and everyone of them. A couple of mistakes but recovered and kept a clean sheet. I was firmly in the Puel out camp but looking at the table we are 1 win (and gd) away from the top 4. Keep going and I think Puel could turn this team into something special, just needs to find his strongest team and stick to it.

I was watching from the start on a crap stream and then thought I'd set my telescope mount up anyway as it needed calibrating so turned the stream off, and didn't want to listen to the radio as we usually lose if I do, after a while checked the scores and thought it was half time or maybe 60-70 minutes and we were 2-0 up... then realised the game had finished. It didn't even take me that long to set the telescope mount up so I've got no idea where the time went lol!

Anyway, great result, away from home. Maguire must have done well with 18 fpl points. Nice to see Vardy continue his PL scoring run, the confidence will be back with him now. And great to see Pereira starting and us keeping a clean sheet too.

Great stuff!

Another load of comments about how bad our opponents were... maybe its the way we play that makes em look that bad?

Yes it's running into a sorry jealous spite, that's becoming boring....

Don't give credit,by always  slagging off the opposition.... Seem we have some with so many blunt axes...determined to wear-out the grinder

I did enjoy it and agree that Bournemouth was a horrible game but look where we are overall.  After nearly a fifth of the season we are seventh.  Facts are facts.

I'm not focusing on other's opinions, I was just asking if there are any Puel outers that bring themselves to give him some credit for a good start to the season.

Well?  Can you?

Yes I’m happy with the week, you can only beat what’s in front of you,I will wait and see how we get on against Everton, that may give us more of an idea about where we are in regards to the Bournemouth performance and this weeks performances.

You literally posted in the pre match thread on specifically Wes Morgan (our club captain) starting “I wonder what dirt he has on Puel” then you criticise me for making petty comments. Right. See you after your break.

That's less than five months after he joined us. But you're not jumping in...

I wonder why people keep saying mendy is kante-esque

they are very different. kante is everywhere and also dribble fast with the ball.

mendy is more about interceptions rather than workrate, and he didnt burst forward with the ball.

Five months isn't jumping in, no.

Is there anything more satisfying in life than a slab-head goal from a corner? I think not.

That Maddison freekick goal last week was pretty close.
