When you see the errors the 'top line' goalkeepers have made this season, especially recently, makes you realise that some (and I emphasise some) of the criticism KS gets from our fans is a little bit OTT.

You're right... some tines kasper frustrates me with his short comings.... yet man utd... liverpool... mancity have all had real howlers.

In a wierd way maybe kasper isn't a top 6 goalie... but that has prevented him from being prised away from us and hence we have had stability.  Every cloud...

the weird thing is the two high profile keeper mistakes this week, ederson in the last min of the derby and adrian in extra time last night, were both from them shit along the floor straight to the opposition striker kicks that kasper does at least once a game. i've no idea how we never concede from one.

I was ignoring the stuff on the floor - Kasper does that because brendan forces him to

if we concede from an error due to badly playing out then I consider that a team mistake rather than an individual

ederson let the martial goal squirm under him - I wasn’t thinking about the injury time throw out

I've been going down the City for 50 years and I wouldn't have any hesitation in putting Kasper in the top five keepers that I've seen in my time. And we've had some good 'uns.

Agreed, since 1955 I've seen some excellent goalkeepers and I would probably go further and say in the top three!!

When you look at goalkeeping howlers this season Kasper is well down the list. We all know he has his shortcomings but what player hasn't?

The only shortcomings Messi has, is his height.

Who would you say is better!? I know I’ve been critical of him, however I’d say in hindsight maybe only Shiloh and Banks?

Top 5?

Shilton

Banks

Kasper

Keller

Flowers

Ian Walker was a quality keeper.

Not going to criticise him, he's been Amazing for the club and I imagine he is a massive part of the dressing room but I just get a feeling that BR will look for keeper with better distribution

Never got the love in for Keller. Made some horrendous mistakes and pissed off to Spain at the first opportunity.

I'd have thought top 2 or 3. Assuming Banks had left by the time you started going down, surely only Shilton better?!

Although I wasn't a regular until 1970-71, I did see Banks play 3 times. I was too young to remember much about him in game time but I was there in Town Hall Square on my Dad's shoulders in 1966.

I saw everyone of Shilton's home appearances (and some away) from my debut season until he left for Stoke. That even includes the Texaco Cup and other tournaments.

Banks and Shilton are clearly the two best I've seen. Kasper in the next group with Wallington and Flowers.
