Don't think you can judge an atmosphere based on how it sounds on TV because it never filters through.

For those of us who were there, yes it wasn't maintained at times but it was never "silent". Old Trafford last week was the definition of silent. There was plenty of noise yesterday and on the whole it was brilliant. Best lunchtime game for a while!

Fair play to you, it was a cracking atmosphere, a bit like going Galatasaray.

Random point, most of us on here know TV stations manipulate what viewers can hear as crowd noise/atmosphere but its amazing how many on social media dont know this.

You pretty much hear 'you're fvckin sh it' at most grounds in the country after a team scores but never hear it on tv, for obv reasons I guess.

Just now, Chiltern Fox said:

Loved every minute yesterday. Fullest the ground has been at full time. Can someone explain  the why we were singing ' its happening again, Tottenham Hotspur its happening again'..is this related to them bottling it again or us beating them? Has to be the former right?

Yes mate

Was the best it's been for a while but it helps when the opposition bring 3000 and it's a side we all want to beat. People get up for Spurs/Man United more than they would Bournemouth/Brighton.

The best example with Leicester games on the TV is when the away team's goalie takes a goal kick. Mysteriously it goes quiet for a few seconds just as the crowd are building up a crescendo of "oooooh..."

Can't for the life of me think why that would be! :teehee:

Was great until Ndidi’s goal was ruled out and then nobody wanted to know. Even after an attack or we’d get a corner at 0-1, it was really flat.

Then when Aurier’s goal got ruled out it really picked up and the place was rocking after Ricardo’s goal. I do miss that effort from the fans when we’d go a goal down.

BR quote from yesterday....

"We started the game with a great tempo, which sets the emotion in the stadium..."

Also agree that this particular opposition, the VAR, etc all have a big influence on the atmosphere. Really enjoyed it yesterday.

Generally speaking, more excitement = more noise; and I thought our fans were great yesterday.

As Ronnie T says though, it would be great to have some more noise when we go a goal down too (especially with our more typical slow starts) to spur on the fightback.

Took 2 people who hadn't been to a game in a while yesterday. They commented how loud they thought sk1 was yesterday and how the noise was sustained.

Mentioned that you never hear half that noise when watching on TV.

So I'd suggest anyone who's input starts with you can't hear us on TV is probably deemed redundant.

At all grounds they place mics in certain places and even then they are clearly turned down to capture only certain background noise to not drown out commentators.

Would quite like the option of having crowd volume at full levels and no commentary sometimes. *Glenn hoddle.

For what it's worth. Sk1 and the kop in general was up there as the best in a while especially for an early ko.

Atmosphere sounded great on TV. Fletcher and Hoddle mentioned in numerous times in commentary as did Cole, Crouch & Humphries at HT and FT. Madders couldn’t hear the question when interviewed on the pitch after.

As someone who watches a lot of games on TV, there’s few other grounds where the commentators and pundits mention the atmosphere like they do at the KP. Although we sometimes play it down, even at its worst I reckon it’s still better than most.
