I’ve been pretty staunchly CP in but the guy is really starting to test my patience with his selections and subs . It’s one step forward 2 back . He’s finally embraced life after Wes ( which is whAt we have all been advocating) but keeps turning to the likes of Shinji and Ian expecting them to make things happen late in a game when anyone can see things won’t .

Barnes has a promising game but I fully expect to see him benched at Spurs and Hamza has clearly shit the bed to be unable to displace Mendy

And your alternative is?

I look at it differently, certainly in terms of initial selections. If he start Evans and Barnes, and can introduce Tielemans as a regular starter that's almost a third of the outfield players changed since before the window. And they would all be changes most people have been saying he should make.

Deserved a point. Created more than enough chances to get at least a goal but lacking final cutting edge. Forward players not making enough effort off the ball in the first 60 to stretch them. For the shit introduction Ghezzal had (whoever the morons were booing), he looked like he wanted it and did OK.

Totally agree on all of the above, especially the booing morons!

It is groundhog day yet again.

United should have been ahead on 4 minutes and were ahead on 9. We started slowly with little intensity and carried on that way for pretty much the whole of the first half. The front players didn't look as if they had played together ever and the lack of movement was the same as ever. Also the front 4 never tracked back properly and we were outnumbered in midfield but didn't try to address this.

2nd half started with a good tempo but that lasted around 7 minutes before we ran out of ideas. As usual we moved the ball too slowly in the transition phase and some of the crosses into the box (Chilwell especially) were nothing short of terrible.

Our set pieces were decent from Maddison but all 4 corners in the first half were exactly the same with no variety. Our subs revealed the true lack of talent available. Okazaki shouldn't play for us again. He's been a good servant to the club but offers absolutely nothing now. The short corner at the end between Ghezzal and Iheanacho was laughable.

The frustrating thing is that United were there for the taking. They really weren't that good but they didn't have to be. They won without breaking sweat.

It just feels like the same old issues at every home match. In his interview it is clear Puel want them to move the ball forwards and more quickly yet match after match after match we fail to do this. So is this because Puel can't get them to understand how to do this or is that they simply aren't capable of doing so. If the latter then the manager has to adept his ways and methods to suit then players he has or we will get nowhere.

Providing we manage to stay up this season is starting to feel like a complete waste of time. No real improvement in most players, or in the way we play and easy to argue there's been less entertainment along the way too.

And as for booing players coming onto the pitch for pity's sake stop it is embarrasing and hardly going to help the players.

Same as usual. Stodgy central midfield, Vardy isolated, aimless crosses to no one in particular, lack of composure and precision in final third, terrible kicks from the keeper and of course gifting the opposition an early goal.

Another missed opportunity. Story of Puel's reign.

he doesn't get enough minutes to become consistent so on that basis he can't be consistent

Meh , semantics. If he was at all consistently worthy he’d be showing it to the detriment of others and starting. And anybtime he has he’s been poor buddy.

We deserved something from that today.

Barnes was fantastic and looked our most dangerous player. The usual suspects for

me flattering to deceive once more. Another slow start has cost us. Some dodgy decisions from the ref in the last 20 mins. Vardy needs a goal quick. Maddison needs to go back to basics. Ghezzal is better than Gray.

The times I hear this said. Is it REALLY that difficult to work out that the fans are NOT booing the player? They are booing Puel for the decision. Can we all just accept that now please.

Entertaining game.

Poor error from Ricardo compounded by Maguire gave them the goal but we should have got at least a draw. Vardy is our prinicpal striker and he was given 3 good chances, at least 1 should have been put away.

I really enjoyed the linked play of Chilwell, Barnes, Maddison and Gray; they look a great corps of players for our future.

Evans was a massive upgrade on Wes. Maguire had some great moments to go with a couple of poor positions.

Ndidi needs a rest, just doesn't think fast enough nor control the ball well enough. Mendy looked poor with a few bad passes and could easily have gotten a red. Hamza in for the rest of the season please.

Ghezzal hit a couple of great balls and that FK was better than a Mahrez FK.

Kasper had some poor distribution and could easily have cost us a goal.

Shinji is finished, why didn't we sell him, so he could play somewhere closer to his level?

Agree with nearly all of that though Mendy was not as poor as people are making out up until his booking (caused by a poor ball to him which he tried to rescue). After that though, I agree he was ineffective and he lost his head totally it seemed with at least three silly pull backs etc. which should have seen him dismissed for a second yellow. I think that point made by Puel detractors that he and Ndidi are too similar in style as disrupters and by playing them both hampers us creatively is valid. That is the area together with more effective, clever front running, which would create better chances, we are missing badly.

Well the booing started when the sub was announced then stopped and started again when Ghezzal came on. Pretty hard for the player to know it isn't aimed at him. In any case we just don't need it at all.

Yet another instantly forgettable home performance.

We were ok but don’t have that much idea in the final third. De Gea had the one real save to make from the free kick everything else was pretty much straight at him.

Barnes looked decent, Ghezzal looked ok when he came on for Maddison (took the wrong man off IMO). We looked solid at the back, 8th minute charity goal exempt. Midfield just can’t drive forward. It’s like we’re waiting for the opposition to slip up and give us a goal, which just doesn’t happen every week.

They played like Man Utd do these days go one up and don’t move up the gears unless they have to.

I only watched the highlights as I was out today, but Mendy's reaction to the slightly overhit pass from Ricardo leading up to their goal is very disappointing. Not only did he not seem ready at all to receive the ball, but he should be sprinting to recover the ball. Instead he was just jogging giving Pogba all the time in the world to play in Rashford. I've given him the benefit of the doubt a lot this season, but he has been well below par since New Year. Would like to see Tielemans and/or Choudhury get the not.
