With regards to us taking any of their players... I'd take McGregor. Plays the same type of role as Tielemans who should be our priority but if we want two players for every position, Hamza and McGregor would be excellent backup for Tielemans and Ndidi.

Tierney is a cracking player but unless Chilwell goes, we don't need him.

James Forrest is a funny one. He's basically Dimmi Gray with a better work rate and more football intelligence but his decision making at times makes him wildly inconsistent but he's mules ahead of Ghezzal so I could take him or leave him.

Apart from that, there's no one I'd by hugely excited about us getting.

So you will be fine if one day he just leaves midway through a season? I doubt that.

If he gets the sack for being unsuccessful in the space of two months or so, just like in the case with Puel, then so be it.

He hardly left you "midway" through the ongoing season, your season ends in May, you're that close to the finishing line.

If Lennon ****s this up, it's his fault, not Rodgers'.

Depends on the circumstances. I'd never be 100% happy (and we all understand this anger at Rodgers for doing this) but if the manager in question has done a lot for the club then it would be understandable. MON left us at the end of the season when he joined you guys, but had he left immediately I wouldn't have been that upset given what he had done for our club.

Bit different, but N'golo Kante left us after we won the title and that was very hard to take. We literally could not have done any better that season and he left a club that finished 1st for one that finished 10th. But angry at the player... no way, he contributed more than 100's of others ever had.

When's the training complex due to be completed and ready for use? I keep seeing this mentioned, but if it's late 2020/2021 then he's probably not even going to get to use it haha

Probably wrong but I thought it was end of next season?

Celtic fan here.

Just want to say a few things regarding Rodgers. Of course you will have noticed the outrage from us about the nature of the departure.

When Rodgers joined he said he had been a Celtic fan all his life and that he comes from a big Celtic family, making out he was a die hard Celtic man. He constantly stated how he was in his 'dream job' and happy in Glasgow, and that how Celtic was NOT a stepping stone etc etc. We all bought into this and adored him. Loved how he came across in interviews and how he dealt with the press. We did idolise him, or at the vast majority did anyway.

Then, he ups and leaves to the first club that comes knocking at a CRUCIAL point in our season. We still have the league to win on our quest for ten, and also a Scottish cup to compete for.

Personally, I would not have had a problem if he had stayed with us until the end of the season, got an immense send off - which he would have - and then moved on to a new challenge. A 'Celtic man' would not have left his 'dream club' the way he has. Sneaked out the back door with no class what so ever. Many previous Celtic managers who have wanted to leave or had a fallen out with the board have at least had the decency to see out the season, not Brendan.

He said in his interview that he will 'give his life' for your club. Well, he couldn't even give another two months for his boyhood club, so I would take that statement with a pinch of salt.

Don't get me wrong, fantastic manager for us in terms of success domestically. Cannot fault him for that. European form is a completely different story mind you.

But, he has completely ruined his reputation with us Celtic fans when he could have had legendary status.

Anyway, just thought I would give you's a heads up on your new boss. If he has success with you, don't be surprised if he leaves you the way he left us!

And you're not getting Tierney lol

Football food chain mate.

If he leaves us it means he would have done well - that's football.

You’ll get neither. You won’t pay the money we would want for either. That’s not to say you can’t afford it but we’d be asking for £40m for both. Don’t think they would leave want to leave either.

Both will go for less and would bite an arm off to play in a better league for more money, it’s totally delusional to think otherwise.

It'll be ready for the next gaffer then :D

In all seriousness though, it's a very exciting time for the club. If we can exercise a modicum of patience and stick to the plan we seem to have, we're going to be in a very solid position in 5 years time.

I’ve had girlfriends who were less bitter after being dumped than this Celtic lot.

*sniff* We loved him and he left us even though he said he loved us too *sniff* He’ll do the same to you, you mark my words, he doesn’t care *sniff* Dry your eyes and fvck off.

As long as he’s now giving us a portion we don’t give a toss about your failed relationship. Maybe we’ll all go out for Pornstar Martinis when he shacks up with that Chelsea slag, giving drunken blowjobs to bouncers in back alleys, but not quite yet.

No. First we must receive a good Rodgering.

Dembele cost £20m and we sold him basically because he downed tools. Foreset, McGregor and Tierney are all Celtic fans. They aren’t as easy to convince as Rodgers. There’s also a massive difference. Rodgers has always been open about moving back down south. McGregor, Forrest and Tierney have all signed 5 and 6 year deals.

Patronising. I know fine well we can’t compete and I’m fine with it. Rodgers ruined his legacy. No true Celtic fan would walk away from history to do that. I love him, he’s brought many happy memories but he was always in it for himself. Leicester is a good club for him and I wish him well. The players mentioned are different. They bleed green and white. If they weren’t players, they would be in the stand.

With all due respect to Leicester and I mean them no disrespect when I say this. You are in no way a club like us. Everything you have, is down to TV money and finances. Without the money, you’d be nothing. You look down on us because we play in Scotland. I would rather play in Scotland with kids who bleed than become a tourist team in a tourist league. We all know the premier league is a just a money spinner now. I’d rather sign players who want to play for the club than players than money grabbing mercenaries.

If you look back through my posts on this, I always said Rodgers would leave soon. Leicester were a good club for him to go to. He will have you playing good football and your youth players will develop unbelievably.

Mcgregor will cost you £25m on his own. We already turned down £10m for Forrest couple of seasons back and he’s signed a longer term deal since then. I’m not for one minute insinuating that you can’t afford £40m for both. Just that I don’t think you’ll pay the money for them.

Put a Richard on the card

A bit late to the party but welcome Brendan!

Kudos to the football club, and especially Top, for making the decision, and getting their man in so quickly. Well done to all involved!

Lets not forget this is the same Celtic who idolized Georgios Samaras lol

I went to a pre season friendly of Celtic vs Man City years ago and some of the chants for Samaras were brilliant. Couldn't help chuckle and Man City fans were taking the right piss lol

Delighted to see Brendan here with us. I really believe he will push us on

It sounds very positive and I hope we get behind him 100% and move away from the divisions we had over poor old Claude, even if we go on a bad run.....well I can hope for that, but know it wont happen!

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but I wonder how much credit anyone will give Puel should we have an outstanding season next year? My guess is it would be forgotten.

Let's say no-one leaves and no-one else is signed, and we get top 4 next season, or win a cup, with roughly the team Puel built.

Pearson (rightly) gets huge credit on here for building the team which won us the P/L. Ranieri tinkered with it and it goes down as a P/L title for him, but we all really know it was set in place for him by Pearson.

I'm certain that nowhere near the same credit would go to Puel if next season is an outstanding one, and I bet I get ridiculed on here for suggesting such a situation!

Your only as good as the people you surround yourself with. Most managers never get credit for the positive changes they contribute to a club. Ask Rodgers. Think he gets any credit for the change in footballing philosophy that he started at Liverpool?

How about Roberto Martinez. Think he gets any credit for the change in football pholosophy at Swansea. One which Brendan benefitted from to promote them. Claude should always get credit for his link in the chain.

Its Brendan's team now. I expect him to do what I love watching him do. Create a team that presses. attacks and works like an absolute set of madmen. If LCFC all pull together and create what I saw at Liverpool then well all be in for a treat.

One we'll never forget.

Wonder how long the Celtic fans will be on here with their nonsense. 69 games without defeat. 7 Trophies. Go home and support your team. They play Hearts tonight. They need you. Football is a business.
