Personally I think he has cost spuds trophies in the past 3 years, and if Ponch and players do leave he's going to have to dig very deep, because I cannot see another top manager coming in without huge squad investment. Levy is not running the club for Ponch, or the current players and that is dangerous. He is just not competing with the other so called big five and it could cost them big time in the future. But they'll have a nice ground! Football fans can't expect all chairman/owners to throw out money just to please their own egoistic souls!!!! Levy also has to balance the idea of keeping them close to top 4,while holding finances in check...!! Fans saying he should throw out £50 mil here,18mil twice there!!! Really have no idea, what clubs spending power is!!! It is not the fans money...not even with STs. Pochitino, when losing always makes a sad figure....especially from Febuary run ins!! But it is his squad and like it or not,are at the moment even if they lose Poch, are in a better all round position than us as a club!!! Pochitino does just not have that extra quality available to Keep a strong run in towards season end....neither do Arsenal ,Chelsea and maybe Manutd, spite their present fine form!!! we can laugh, but our team, not just manager chasing top 7-8 has found it a task too far!!! Stones in glass houses over last 3 seasons!!! A Spurs fan, once called us nobodies, well he soon had a bakery-full delivery of humble-pie...... Since our title....many of our fans ,not all have shown their faces at the same Bakery,on expectations. A certain % was due to him being the Tour leader, but also even now some will have Rodgers incorrectly expecting him breaking all bounds in the coming season!!!
Bluetintedspecs Posted 28 February 2019 Posted 28 February 2019 So is Fat Sam inferring we're going to become a team of bottlers?

Super_horns Posted 28 February 2019 Posted 28 February 2019 So you're not going to come close to winning anything for over 10 years then - that is a shame for you guys! On a serious note Spurs are a club that shows you can compete in the top 6 without having to spend millions and scouting well for young players.

stripeyfox Posted 28 February 2019 Posted 28 February 2019 Spurs are probably on the cusp of one of two things 1) a very talented manager, players and the best stadium in the country (by a mile) ready to make the final push to Premier League glory 2) Poch leaves, Kane leaves, Eriksen, Alli, Toby A etc all leave, stadium puts them in eye watering debt, Spuds get Big Sam as manager and they finish 9th Which one more likely?

If scenario 2 happens, they'll be fine since they'll grab a pretty penny for all of those names.

Option 2 won't happen. I don't like Spurs but they are well ran. Levy is probably the best businessman in the division - he doesn't let players (or managers) go cheap, they get tied down to contracts, and players aren't paid high wages.
Nicolo Barella Posted 28 February 2019 Posted 28 February 2019 Samuele Allardici can keep his gravy stained lips from talking about us, thank you very much.

The new stadium and NFL pitch plus London location will make it worth a ton of money and he'll exit for Billions within the next 5-10 years. Hence he doesn't want to over leverage his stake in the team with players. Er.... Levy does not own Tottenham, he’s an employee

Corky Posted 28 February 2019 Posted 28 February 2019 Tottenham, I think, are the most likely (although it will still be one hell of a dip) to drop from the top six given their new stadium and it's costs, the potential managerial upheaval and then the knock-on with players possibly going. If Rodgers can finish in the top six with us at any point he'll have had a magnificent season, looking well beyond 60 points required to manage it if this season is a guide.

Heymister2015 Posted 28 February 2019 Posted 28 February 2019 id rather be leicester city who won the premier league rather than spurs who have won zero! still enjoy watching spurs fans celebrate like they've won the world cup when they beat us!
