TIER JERKER

Leicester boss Rodgers to enrage Celtic fans even further by raiding former club for £25m Tierney if Chilwell leaves

Former Hoops manager faces a battle with Borussia Dortmund to bring the left-back to the Foxes

BRENDAN RODGERS could further enrage Celtic fans by beating Borussia Dortmund to the signature of Hoops star Kieran Tierney.

The German giants have emerged as contenders for the left-back in a £25million summer deal.

They have sent staff to monitor on-loan Jeremy Toljan in every Scottish Premiership game - and Tierney has caught their eye as the next youngster who could star in the Bundesliga.

The 21-year-old will be a target for Leicester if they lose Ben Chilwell in the summer, with Manchester City among the clubs interested in the England international.

Rodgers worked with Tierney at Celtic before taking over the Foxes last month and expects him to eventually star in the Premier League.

But the competition for the youngster is likely to intensify, with Arsenal also looking to bolster the left side of their defence.

Tierney will consider his options as he attempts to win back his place as first-choice for Scotland from Andy Robertson.

But if Rodgers wins the race for Tierney then it would further strengthen the ill-feeling towards him from his old club.

So Celtic fans would be enraged further due to a fact we might be able to sign Tierney before another Club, if it hypothetically came down to it if we lose one of our best and most promising players

These people somehow get paid to post this stuff onto the internet?

He's mustard tbf. Typical Scotland that their two best players of a generation are both left backs.

Could be every bit as good as Robertson to be fair, who was also playing SPL football at 21.

If it makes you feel any better, Tierney isn't really Scotch he's Manx.

No he’s crap, if he wasn’t he wouldn’t be playing in Scotland. (Nobody say benkovic is please, he’s not permanently there)

Van Dijk and Wanyama both joined Southampton from Celtic, Andy Robertson was at Dundee and Bournemouth signed Fraiser from Aberdeen.

There are good players in Scotland and Tierney looks like one of them.

It doesn’t really though. For every Van Dijk there’s probably a hundred Stephen Hughes’s.

You could say that about any league

Are we going to get this Sunday / farmer's / Mickey Mouse league "banter" every time we're linked with someone north of the border?
