Popular Post Big Wes Says Yes Posted 3 August 2019 Popular Post Posted 3 August 2019 Ok. So here are the facts, so anyone new to this thread doesn't have to read through the previous 418 pages of dross. - Harry Maguire is a really good CB. - It was always highly likely he would leave when Man Utd came calling and likely offered to double his wages (even though we worry for him at a club as toxic as them). - It leaves us short a starting CB. - Some of us want Soyuncu to replace him as strong CB. - Soyuncu had previously been in the Bundesliga team of the year and also linked with bigger teams than us. - None of us have seen enough of Soyuncu to gauge a proper opinion. - We are likely to have a fat wad of cash following Harry leaving. - None of us can agree as to what to with this cash (other than a new RW). - In summary, in Brendan we trust 5 1 3

Evans is a wise old head with great schooling, but not the quickest. That was one of the limitations of Evans and McGuire last season... both relatively slow. Evans will co-ordinate, but I’d like to see a quality, younger, quicker bloke alongside him Don't get greedy !! and even lose the path that served us well We Already have two,!!!! Soyuncu and Benkovic.. 4
Popular Post HybridFox Posted 3 August 2019 Popular Post Posted 3 August 2019 We'll have some fond memories of Harry. And I'll always be proud that we had a fox score for England at the world cup. But taking blue-tinted spectacles off, he wasn't integral to any sort of success with us during his time here. And he hasn't stuck around for what could be the next exciting era for this football club. It's football and he has every right to make those decisions. He'll get my applause the next time he visits but it stops there. Let's not pretend he's a club legend. 13

Should really stay away from the keyboad an FT when drinking Special Brew. 1
the fox Posted 3 August 2019 Posted 3 August 2019 (edited) I'm all for the players. They should make as much money as they could and then some. The clubs are making stupid amounts of money and the players are more than deserving of their piece of the pie. they are taking from the owner's pockets, not mine. The owners who are filthy rich and many of them are billionaires. All the power to the players. Go get that money. If they can, they should make enough money in order for them to not need to lift a finger after they are done with football. There isn't a salary cap like in basketball or American football so the amount of money they get isn't affecting the ability to get other players directly. It's a contract agreed by the two parties. Wymsey Posted 3 August 2019 Posted 3 August 2019 Hopefully this doesn't unexpectedly drag on until the final day.
Tielemans63 Posted 3 August 2019 Posted 3 August 2019 To be fair it's every player's dream to play under ex-Molde and Cardiff manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Give Harry a break 4
La-li-lu-le-lo Posted 3 August 2019 Posted 3 August 2019 Maguire the best Leicester defender eve.... hold my wiessbier. 3 1
Popular Post Mickyblueeyes Posted 3 August 2019 Popular Post Posted 3 August 2019 I would take Cahill on a free for a season to add cover and allow Benkovic and Caglar to mature into the role. Really do believe in both and don’t think either options mentioned add any real value. 8 1
La-li-lu-le-lo Posted 3 August 2019 Posted 3 August 2019 Huth kicks the shit out of slab head, best CB in our history, I’ve had a fair few Erdingers tonight, but that’s not tainted me views, United can have him, poor mans Dabizas! 2 2

Pants are being pulled down on our side now with other teams knowing we’ve got a massive few for a defender. Cahill for a year is a great shout. Him, Evans and Wes would be ideal for Soyuncu and Benkovic to learn from.

Collymore Posted 4 August 2019 Posted 4 August 2019 I just can't believe he's going for a fee which is literally double what he's worth and you could even debate he's not a £40m defender anyway. Absolutely incredible bit of business by the club, hats off to Rudkin for pulling this off. 1

Perhaps not you personally, but the money in the game is coming from Sky, who get their money from the fans.

The Sky money does not really compare with the World-wide fees. Trust me paying for Astro in Malaysia is not cheap!! 1
