justfoxes Posted 15 July 2019 Posted 15 July 2019 Still thinking why waste £50m+ on Dunk as we have Benkovic & Soyuncu in the wings to partner Evans then maybe promote one of the u23’s to the bench, just doesn’t feel right shelling out £50m+ on Lewis Dunk ?

Whether he likes it or not he’ll have to keep playing and performing if he wants to keep his place in the England team. There has been absolutely no suggestion from any source - even the made up ones - that he is doing anything other than getting his head down. Making preferences clear and staying uber professional are not mutually exclusive.

UniFox21 Posted 15 July 2019 Posted 15 July 2019 Aight; now he's said he wants to go, we take £80/85 million. But we don't drop our prices, we stand strong on price and he leaves on our terms
moore_94 Posted 15 July 2019 Posted 15 July 2019 Seems like he understands the valuation needs to be met before he can get his move, and that we won’t be dropping are valuation All on United whether they want to pay up now

Blanchflower78 Posted 15 July 2019 Posted 15 July 2019 Let's be honest, most people believed he would like the chance to move on or at least speak to united or city IF we are happy with the financial aspect. Whilst Percy confirms it the position hadn't changed other than a credible source now involved.

Utd wouldn't sell pogba for 15/20mill below ther valuation. Why should we sell Maguire for less? Exact same situations. We aren't some small club they can push over anymore. Pay up or shove off.

We can dig our heals in all we want, but all we'll see is more pissed off players. More players costing huge amounts only signing 4 year contracts because they know two years of playing well and we'll have to sell to reap the fullest amount in their transfer (hello Tielemans 4 year contract). There is a balance to strike between being seen as no pushover and keeping a harmonious squad, who aren't going to feel trapped and stopped from getting moves to giants of the game. Agree. We could be top 4 for several years but the sharks would just change colour. Instead of Man Utd/city/arsenal etc it would become Real/Barca/PSG or some other mega rich European side. Even our top sides are not immune when the likes of Real come calling. Just ask Chelsea if they would have rather kept Hazzard. Every player has his price and there will always be someone willing to pay it if they are good enough (or the buyers desperate enough)

Leicester_Loyal Posted 15 July 2019 Posted 15 July 2019 I am honestly not too bothered if we get 85-90m for him.
Guest All foxed out Posted 15 July 2019 Posted 15 July 2019 sigh. Wish we could hold on to him, but if the price is right it’s good business from us once again. Still expect us to do better than MUFC this season regardless of Maguire. Turbulence there atm.

We'll stand by our word and if the valuation is met he may leave, if not he's expected to be professional and play for the shirt. And obviously not a transfer request; he wants that loyalty bonus.
CosbehFox Posted 15 July 2019 Posted 15 July 2019 Nothings really changed then as it? Abrasive and Albert said the same a couple of weeks ago
