Leicester_Loyal Posted 17 February 2020 Share Posted 17 February 2020 Great result for us, if Kante is out for a decent period of time Chelsea could easily slip down the table. We look miles ahead of 4th and 5th.
twister Posted 17 February 2020 Share Posted 17 February 2020 VAR is ridiculous the first goal chelsea player was being fouled before the second foul then for the second goal surley common sense should rule that he scored with his head not a toe. The whole thing has made me not want to watch any premier league games outside of the obvious ones the lads play..

Hammo Posted 17 February 2020 Share Posted 17 February 2020 Man Utd scored two good goals but they were showered with good fortune from the officials. Bit dodgy that the VAR footage of the Giroud disallowed goal did not show the moment the ball was released from the cross. Maybe the prospect of no Manchester representation in next season’s Champions League is too much for the powers that be to stomach...

The whole thing has made me not want to watch any premier league games outside of the obvious ones the lads play.. I don't get it. Offside is offside. Its the right call, its what VAR is for. The rule isn't open to interpretation so its what VAR is best used for. Whether it's ruining the game or not is another matter. Where VAR has it wrong tonight is the Maguire call, and that IS open to interpretation. That's where the laws of the game need a tweak, the ref should be forced over to the monitor to make the final call on it there.
Benji Posted 17 February 2020 Share Posted 17 February 2020 The offside is clear. The disallowed goal and lack of a red card for Maguire (in light of the Son red card) are ridiculous. The two wrong decisions aren’t VAR’s fault - it’s the incompetent ref on the pitch and sat behind the screen.

twister Posted 17 February 2020 Share Posted 17 February 2020 I do wonder how many of these VAR calls will go uniteds way after citys ommision from the champions leaguie would suit the powers who we all know want the traditional super powers back in place. Ric Flair Posted 17 February 2020 Share Posted 17 February 2020 Maguire should have been off and I would love them to explain that Zouma ruled out goal, is it not a foul if their own player caused the domino effect? Interesting scenario. The race for 4th and 5th place is really going to get interesting, I'd not be surprised if a team or two really stepped it up and won 8-9 of the remaining games but then also because there's several teams fighting for it they hopefully should all take points off each other and negate the chance of making major in roads on us. We just have to get a few wins under our belt in the next few weeks, it's been too long and will give us a massive lift.

Listening / watching on NBC and they think Maguire kicked out and the player was pushed and both were bad decisions. He was pushed!
Popular Post Nod.E Posted 17 February 2020 Popular Post Share Posted 17 February 2020 (edited) STOP PANICKING Our form in 2020: 8 points in 6 = 1.33 per game = 16 more points = 66 total points (67 required to catch due to GD) Bearing in mind it's this form which our fans are calling the pits and therefore, you'd think, as bad as it can get for us. Therefore to finish above us, the teams behind us will need at least: Chelsea: 26 - 2.16ppg Spurs: 27 - 2.25ppg Sheff Utd: 28 - 2.33ppg Man U: 29 - 2.42ppg 2.25 PPG form would be 58/59 points so far this season. Basically top of league form save for Liverpool's ridiculous form. The form in 2020 of these teams? Chelsea: 6 from 6 = 1ppg Spurs: 10 from 6 = 1.66ppg Sheff Utd: 10 from 6 = 1.66ppg Man U: 7 from 6 = 1.16ppg Not QUITE top of league form. Even if we only get 1 point per game (which won't happen, obviously), the teams below us would STILL NEED: Chelsea: 22 - 1.82ppg Spurs: 23 - 1.91ppf Sheff Utd: 24 - 2ppg Man U: 25 - 2.08ppg And we'd need two of those teams to do that. 3 if 5th does it for us because of Man City. Just enjoy it and stop panicking. There's a reason Bet365 has us at 1.05 to finish top 4. When you're putting £100 on to win £5, it's basically happening. I'll say it again. CHILL. OUT. Probably plenty more examples but basically a lot of results happen in the league and sometimes teams beat one team that another doesn't. CosbehFox Posted 17 February 2020 Share Posted 17 February 2020 I don’t think that’s a bad result for us at all. Cant see Man U sustaining a run of victories. These games suit them but playing ‘lesser’ opposition doesn’t. Chelsea look broken and about to be swallowed by the pack. Spurs and Wolves for them next. Be good if they drew with Spurs

The Bear Posted 17 February 2020 Share Posted 17 February 2020 I can just about buy Maguire's explanation there, but it still should have been a red. Terrible round of results for us, with everyone from Burnley up to Spurs winning around us. Though our fixtures to the end of the season are very favourable.
