He's one of those players who fans of other clubs rate highly because he capable of producing something brilliant but largely does nothing. It's amazing how many non-LCFC fans I talk to who think Demerai Gray is amazing and they seem surprised when I tell them that the truth is quite different when you see him every week. Struggling to see how 7 players for the front 3 positions is too many, particularly when one of them in Ghezzal has been all but frozen out by the manager (yet to start in pre-season and he's explicitly spoke about needing a winger that cuts inside, despite Ghezzal being that kind of player). We've only signed three players - one of those was a loan made permanent, and the other two were direct replacements for Okazaki and Simpson. We're yet to upgrade on players still here. I think we have a real opportunity to get two players in to upgrade the squad drastically - shift James and Ghezzal from last year's 25 man squad, and get two more quality players in. We had the same issue last season, particularly the first half of the season - one player too few in forward areas, which left us relying on Albrighton, Gray from the start, and Okazaki and Iheanacho off the bench. Our fourth winger for the first half of the season was Diabate ffs. I'll be massively disappointed if it doesn't happen. We've had a good window, mostly down to Tielemans signing, but all this talk of Leicester spending big and Top going for the top 6 is going to look wide of the mark if we don't sign a marquee winger. 2 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
