I think he misheard. It was actually "another player: Suso"

Ziyech has outright said he's happy to stay at Ajax playing regularly while he waits for a bigger club than  Sevilla with regular CL football.

We obviously don't fit that description.

Rodgers did say after Cheltenham though that Perez is a 'central striker that can play wide'. Our squad fits rather well with his 2012-13 Liverpool side, in which Perez is rather similar to Fabio Borini. Brendan then had Suarez (Vardy), Sturridge (Iheanacho), Ibe and Sterling (Gray and Barnes), Coutinho (Maddison), Downing (Albrighton) and then Suso and Assaidi. Granted, the latter 2 didn't play too much, but my point stands about having both a versatile forward that mostly plays wide (Borini/Ayoze) and a winger that can cut inside.

The Merc have been very good this summer and they said the club wanted 5 players way back in early June:

- Right-back cover (Justin)
- Ball playing midfielder (Tielemans)

- Utility/versatile forward to play across the front 3 positions, taking the pressure off Iheanacho as Vardy's only competition (Ayoze)

- Backup attacking midfielder

- Big name winger

He also said after Scunthorpe I believe that there are 'a few areas' they'd like to strengthen, with the attacking midfielder the only position named so far.

Alan Nixon's comments back in May that 'Leicester will spend loads' don't really fit if we are only going to spend £90-100m on four players - that's less than what we spent (gross) last summer, and given the Maguire situation it could work out at a very similar net spend too.

I think we might get a midfielder in before Atalanta or by the weekend, and then a winger could be an exciting deadline day one.

Il Corriere della Sera say this morning Milan will consider offers above £27m for Suso, and his release clause is £35m.

His agent is working on a departure because Milan aren't prepared to pay him the requested £100k/week he wants.

The Italian press were all over us sending a scout to Milan 2-0 Frosinone in May. Suso scored and was man of the match in that game. Never mind the Brendan link.

Come on Rudkin. You know you want to.

Hopefully leao signing tomorrow has a knock on effect of transfers at Milan.

They fancy Angel Correa from Atletico too apparently. I assume Giampaolo fancies Lucas Paqueta in the 10 role, hence why Suso's going to struggle to fit in.

If we could get the lad for £30m I would be over the moon with the squad we have.

Malcom of Barcelona is signing for Zenit St. Petersburg for 40m euro. It seemed a number of other clubs were also in for him (no idea if we were), but Barcelona wanted a straight sale whereas everyone else wanted a loan with option to purchase. Zenit have agreed to buy him up front, so he's off there.

Might seem like we are missing out, but the Tielemans deal IMO showed why it's better to be safe rather than sorry with big money purchases.

But that is a winger / forward off the potential list of targets to buy / loan, if we are indeed in for one and not just a more traditional attacking midfielder.

It’s Sean.

This is clearly a thought experiment from  those f&£kers at De Montfort Uni.

They see the slander of (the now mighty) Sean, and are trying to gauge our shallowness once a wanted rumours appears.

Bastards

You're literally all as bad as Sean is. You keep moaning about him and rolling your eyes and yet keep following him and posting his shit here.

Some people certainly do get something up a tad, if they see "Ziyech" and "LCFC" in the same tweet.

Cheaper than Viagra.
