He's been here 3 and a half years and is 25, how can it be a case of writing someone off too soon?

Because, in my opinion, he was playing well at the time of his leg break. Like all players he needs consistent time in the team. Every time he has had a run he looks decent to me.

I know it’s trendy to jump on certain players and rubbish them, but unlike Ghezzal there is a good player in there.

Incidentally I got a ban for mentioning Ghezzal was shit before we bought him. He is. I don’t think Amartey is. Just my opinion though.

It was almost forgotten in the wake of the tragedy that he suffered a terrible injury on that awful night.

He seems a lovely lad and I'd love to see him come back fitter, stronger and with a bit more experience.

Provided it's a loan, it's a good deal all round.

In all seriousness, looking at some of the transfer fees paid and considering his age and international pedigree I feel like we should be looking at 15 to 20 million minimum.

Loan only for me, was starting to play well before the injury. We'll also need him as back up next season if we get into Europe.

A move would be best for Dan and best for the club.

A good, honest, trier but limited.  If he goes I hope he does well and succeeds at Sheff U but he's not got much to offer us with Ricardo and now Justin at full back, Choudhury, Mendy and N'didi ahead of him as DM and never once trusted as a CB in his time here.

One of many we need to move along.

@RumbleFox will be heartbroken.

I'm gonna become a Sheffield Utd fan. X

Our squad is so bloated, he wouldn't have been one of the first I'd have moved on because he's probably on low wages and versatile which makes him a useful squad player. We've probably got well over 30+ players which needs trimming down because our wage bill will be horrendous at this point.

Good fit for them, will suit him well playing as one of the outer centrebacks

Would love for him to have a season out on loan in the premiership. Plenty of minutes under his belt, the potential for us to see what his true best position is & how he would cope playing at this standard week in, week out.

I don’t feel we can rule out Amartey yet he’s not had a fair chance to show us truly what he’s got & for me when he’s stepped in, he’s looked like a great squad option to have.

I have always had a soft spot for him, especially when during an interview after the title win he mentioned he kissed his medal every morning. But he is getting older, we have a lot of younger players pushing in. He was on the bench at during the B game last week. I would be happy to have him as a squad player, but it's probably in his best interest to move.

I agree, but we don't seem to have any buyers for the likes of Slim etc.  We can't move them on without anywhere to move them to.

If Sheff U have come in for Amartey, I think we should wish him well and let him go

Yeah I did think that too, he’s probably the most saleable asset that it doesn’t matter if we lose so cashing in makes sense

I'd sell him. He is not going to get gametime here, and to have a side willing to come in for him is great for all concerned. Playing in the Prem, for any side, is a great achievement. Most players can only dream of it. If they bid I'd wish him well. Another reason to cheer on the Blades this season  (I have a soft spot for promoted teams)

I'd be annoyed if we sell him just as he started to look solid. He's not a wing back or particularly convincing at defensive midfield but he became a very solid right back just before his injury and a centre half option if needed. He's the kind of utility player I'd want to keep around.

If he has spoken to BR and he is low in the pecking order then it's understandable the DA and his agent would push for a move. I think that he is a decent utility player and is good enough as cover but if we get a decent return it might be best all round to do a deal. However, as he is good cover we would need to have plans to buy another specialist defender or holding midfielder otherwise selling DA might not be such a good idea.

Hes not the first of our second stringers who I'd sell but if there is a deal available full stop we almost have to take it at this point. We simply have to trim the squad down. I daresay a couple of players that won't ever trouble our first team again won't even be able to get late loan deals (no club would consider James surely) and will continue to take up wages and space as a result.

Decent utility player before his injury, only really a bit part player here and we have enough players warming the bench but just have to see what the coaching staff think.
