Popular Post martyn Posted 9 December 2021 Popular Post Posted 9 December 2021 Probably an unpopular opinion, but for the most part this season he has been fairly decent when on the pitch. It's easy to use the red card against West Ham as a stick to beat him with. 14

Yh it’s been odd for him, arguably kept his place when he didn’t deserve to at times last year, but this year he’s been good enough to be worth a place but has lost it to Lookman… who doesn’t deserve it. 2

However, he gets replaced by Lookman, who is no better in those aspects but far worse in helping out defensively. Also unpopular opinion, but our best form under BR has come with Perez in the side. 2
Marshall Cockney Fox Posted 9 December 2021 Posted 9 December 2021 If he starts playing well and warranting a place I'm going to struggle. He is my preferred scapegoat. Currently I have him pinged for Covid and Brexit. Alongside being iffy on the ball. I'll have to start all over again. For that reason, I can't endorse your position.

Partly true but as mediocre as Lookman has been at times, Perez is very poor on the right and certainly wouldn't have been an improvement on him in that position. I do however acknowledge that his performances in the centre were considerably better and he was certainly more effective and certainly fitter than Maddison for a time. However, Maddison has now regained some form and as such, there's no comparison whatsoever between the two. As improved as he was, Perez remains a mediocre squad member, who will remain here until his lucrative contract runs out because no team of any reasonable stature would ever want to buy him.
mod hero Posted 9 December 2021 Posted 9 December 2021 (edited) When teams are aren’t performing it’s natural for fans to be clamouring for players who aren’t playing. same with Praet, doesn’t mean they are the answer though Edited 9 December 2021 by mod hero

Agreed Perez is poor on the right, that's definitely not his position, but with that he's still more of a threat than Lookman (although that might not be hard, I think I'm more of a threat than Lookman). 1

Foxxed Posted 9 December 2021 Posted 9 December 2021 Perez plays an unconventional role though so viewed as a winger he’ll fall short but it’ll be interesting to see if the team looks stronger with him in.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 20 February 2022 Posted 20 February 2022 The rumoured appearance clause seems to have been at least somewhat accurate, not too many other reasons as to why Brendan persisted with him so much last season and has been totally frozen out this season. Hopefully we can move him on this summer. 1 1

Hopefully we can move him on this summer. He was competing with cengiz for the right side (who was mostly injured or out of favour). Now it’s lookman who Brendan likes …. And that’s when we’re generally in a 4atb which has been in and out Edited 20 February 2022 by st albans fox 1
Lesta2014 Posted 20 February 2022 Posted 20 February 2022 Guessing he will be one we get rid of in the summer? Imagine his wages fairly high so could be a loan move?

No could about it and frankly we'd be lucky to have someone even bother with a loan. No chance anyone pays to take him permanently.
sammy82 Posted 20 February 2022 Posted 20 February 2022 Absolute criminal he cost potentially up to 30 million!!!!!!!!! Wtf 1
cropstonfox Posted 20 February 2022 Posted 20 February 2022 (edited) Terrible waste of money. Set the tone for this seasons pile of failures.Money not spent very well at all. With the money wasted we could have signed a decent replacement for jonny Evans Edited 20 February 2022 by cropstonfox

Leicester_Loyal Posted 14 March 2022 Posted 14 March 2022 Weird how he was constantly started last season when we thought he was playing poor, this year when we've been poor ourselves and potentially could do with something different at times he hasn't got a look in at all. He'll be off in the summer if we can find someone stupid enough to take him, he'll end up going for nowhere near what we paid for him though.
An Sionnach Posted 14 March 2022 Posted 14 March 2022 Ayoze doesn't complain does he ? When we are contracted to pay him another nine or ten million, why should he? We will just have to suck this one up.

Better attacking and good enough defensively.
Fox92 Posted 14 March 2022 Posted 14 March 2022 Have we got to pay Newcastle more if he plays in a number of games or something? Weird how he's always on the bench but doesn't actually come on. 2
Kevin Russell Posted 14 March 2022 Posted 14 March 2022 Perez has been really poor for us. We have to get rid, I quite like his work rate, but in terms of pace, creativity, strength he’s no way near it. Real shame because I had high hopes for him, but he offers very little. Time to go and we can thank him for his contributions to the 9-0 and the FA Cup, but otherwise he’s been underwhelming to say the least.
