Caglar Soyuncu emerges as new cult hero at Leicester City

It was that last tackle and charge up the pitch, one of the best moments of the match. Last 30 seconds killed off without any chance of Spurs getting the ball in the box

He is just brilliant, and will only get better with experience

As gloriously batshlt as it was unwise.  No way a CD should be in the attacking third with 2 minutes of stoppage time left in a 1 goal game, and Chilwell rightly let him know that.  Still - it was a fantastic tackle and a great bit of skill - he just needed to rein it in a little sooner.

You can’t help but love this guy!!! A very good player but also pls s with his heart on his sleeve. That bit at the end was magnificent! I really like that we changed the chant for him too - the new one is much, much better!

What’s the new chant?

Hard to make this sound good in text form but it’s a very simple:

Woh oh oh oh oh

oh oh oh oh

Caglar Soyuncu!

It sounds much better in person than on a forum 😂!

The old one was funny but referenced Maguire too much and was a bit cringe. This one is very good for atmosphere! Don’t know how it sounded on the TV but it was very good in the KP today.

Glad we've ditched the Maguire chant & given him his own chant, hopefully it catches on a bit more. This boy is absolute box office, it's what you pay to watch. If he had've kept the ball at the end on that long run...

Also, any chance a mod can rename this thread to just his name please? I can't keep reading the cult hero reference it's killing me.

Absolute hero. He is playing at a level higher than Maguire was for us imo. That run at the end of the game was absolutely heroic as well as when he sat that Tottenham player on his backside. He will cost us the odd goal over the season but we have to accept that with the style of play we have.

I think there might be a wider lesson to the Maguire / Soyuncu thing. And that's not trying to replace like with like when losing a big player - as by it's very  definition,  you'll be buying someone inferior

Soyuncu has given us a new dimension.

Maddison has grown eventually to give us a different angle to.Mahrez.

Chelsea couldn't replace Hazard etc
