The Sun and The Daily Mail constantly publish shit, ignore it. Every time I see somebody with one of those idiot rags in their hands I want to kick their arse, if you are caught with the Sun in Liverpool they will throw you in the Mersey .

Course I don’t think the players would have to undertake such a task themselves..

It may be the Sun wot dun it, but the story is everywhere, including e.g. the Guardian and The Times. People can keep saying 'shouldn't matter', and you won't find me arguing. But if you want the acid test of whether it was wise or not, ask yourself what Maddison will be saying if he gets asked to go to a casino tonight.

It's only "not wise" because some rag will write a shit article about it. Which is an absurd way for people to live their lives.

Hence he made a public show that he's fine, knowing the tabloids would be all over it. My immediate thought on hearing that he'd been "sent home ill" was that it was probably something he'd instigated because he's realised Southgate is never going to play him and he's wasting his time being there...

sheffield_fox Posted 14 October 2019 Posted 14 October 2019 Everyone knows if you're well enough to sit in a casino, you're well enough to play international football...

You would make a great politician..or England manager maybe 😉 Your question was basically: 'what if Maddison had done the same with Leicester'. For what it's worth, my view is I do like a player supporting his team. It also feels good for supporters to see a close knit squad supporting each other. Yes, I would have been disappointed if Maddison had gone AWOL if LCFC had been playing, but in this day and age, I just don't think players really care as we see time after time on transfers where they just can't wait to grab the cash and go. I think you should support your team if you are a player, but loyalty is now so low on a players priority it's almost expected they will be off the minute they get the chance. It's certainly not unusual for players to go off doing other things if they are injured, dropped or suspended. Finally....... please don't lower my standing in life to that of a politician!! (And even lowing it to England Manger is bad enough!).
KingKoala Posted 14 October 2019 Posted 14 October 2019 Cannot be any worse than Evans case, non story. Plus he was probably watching the match whist playing poker in the casino.
Fox in the North Posted 14 October 2019 Posted 14 October 2019 Maddison probably would have been alright if he wore a Bet365 cap, at least the he would have been sponsored by a FA approved betting company.
Harry96 Posted 14 October 2019 Posted 14 October 2019 Think I’d much rather watch soyuncu against France
cambridgefox Posted 14 October 2019 Posted 14 October 2019 Alexander-Arnold must be pissed off again.
Md9 Posted 14 October 2019 Posted 14 October 2019 Will prob win 3-0 Kane scores another pen they have shit loads of chances but poor finishing means it will look easier than it is.
Md9 Posted 14 October 2019 Posted 14 October 2019 And how rashford starts ahead of Abraham is just madness.
Ric Flair Posted 14 October 2019 Posted 14 October 2019 What's happened to Southgate? I don't get it, his team selections in the last year is horrendous. I always thought what he lacked in natural leadership and technical management he made up for in meticulous planning and trying to harness an environment that made this team have an incredible team spirit. On what planet should the likes of Rashford, Winks and Barkley be doing in this team based on current form? How has Sancho been dropped and the complete lack of faith he's shown TAA yet is astonishing, the lad is one of the most lethal attacking right backs in the world. I don't see a future for England with these methods, really fcukin poor from him.

Strengths /weaknesses, where that player would fit in, tactics etc just an opinion but makes sense to me. Have you ever heard of recording matches to watch later? No need to watch live these days. If it’s recorded you can always decide to watch or not later. I didn’t watch our Manure game as everyone said it was crap. I made do with MOTD.

If rashford played for us and was in he form he is in he would never get picked again

Non selected First-Team members, also didnt always Stay around, for the game,or any part of the game day....which again Shows the Sun Campaign is nonsensical, even shamingly ignorant & incompetent ,But perfect shitstirring..... Golf.Horse-racing,Greyhound tracks, gardenning, family-outings,clubbing..etc etc!!! London Teams often got Tracked for their high-lives...but other Top clubs Players were snipped by an enthusiastic Journo with camera. If it wasnt taken serious in those eras,so there is no Moral-hat to find and put on NOW!!!
Guest Manini Posted 14 October 2019 Posted 14 October 2019 Ah man why am I doing this to myself. This is going to be so so shit but I just can’t switch it off.
