Would we get to polish their boots as well? Maybe if we could fill their dressing room full of good time girls and bottles of champers before the game that'd be worthwhile.

Thats not fair on Salah, he would just have to sit on his hands.

you need to be more inclusive.

i am now just picturing a load of pissed up Liverpool players partying with strippers, whilst Mo Salah sits in a corner looking a bit sad.

I was wondering if we will form a 'guard of honour' for the Liverpool lads as they come onto the pitch?

This would be a good idea I reckon. (but don't announce it beforehand)

Firstly, good PR for us

Secondly, make our players doubly keen to beat them

Thirdly, may make Liverpool think they're going to get an easier game.

I remember when we did a similar thing for Spurs at WHL just after they beat us in the League cup final. We went on to win that game 2-0

Get out

Thank you all for your comments. So we're all agreed that we should make this sporting gesture to honour this frightfully good football team :giggle:

It's a micky mouse cup and they needed extra time to beat a team full of rejects that aren't good enough for Europe.

If they'd just won the league or the CL then yeah cool. But this shit is one step up from the Audi Beijing Papa John's Summer Super Trophy.

I know the Club World Cup SHOULD be more prestigious than that but it just isn't.

I actually think there is some merit in this idea. A kind of reverse psychology.

Make them feel nice and all warm inside. Lull them into a false sense of security. Then, as soon as the whistle goes, get Hamza to boot Salah into row Z - whether he’s in the starting eleven or not*.

*that’s whether either of them are in the starting X1 or not

Well if we don’t do something to honour them it will just give them more grievance to pile onto their sense of victim hood and add to their persecution complex so I’m a bit conflicted here

I think OP is suggesting it to gain a sliver of psychological advantage, hence citing the Spurs game.  We even game them bouquets of flowers for that one if memory serveslol,

I think it's a good idea.
