Where's Priti Patel?

can you imagine the hounding if Diane Abbott didn't show her face for so long in such a crisis?

She'll come out I'd imagine when the issues thay need to be dealt with are her department, lockdown is one of those so I'd imagine she will announce the extension.

The media obsession with getting her to appear is a bit warped, almost like they want to try and trip her up for a bit of clickbait.

Holy shit, they've found Priti Patel.

Maybe she spent the last few weeks looking in a mirror practicing her facial expressions so she doesn't look like nasty smug smirking **** whenever someone asks her to defend her deplorable opinions.

The issues her department will deal with have been brought up weeks ago and she should have been out at least once sooner than this.

Saw a report on Sky this morning about how bad things are for those in care homes. It featured a home in Liverpool where the carers had moved in, effectively cutting all ties with their own families, in order to look after the residents and prevent the virus getting in. I found this very humbling and made me realise just how brilliant people like this are. True hero’s.

My bosses wife has had to do this. They'd successfully kept it away then two residents broke bones and came back from hospital infected 😢

The nursing team has all moved in and the other staff (cleaners, kitchen workers etc) have all refused to work.

They're obviously battling to try and keep it to just those infected but have to keep all the residents safe.

Horrific.

So, so many people are going to have PTSD at the end of this with what they've had to deal with.

Why should she stop? Most people agree with her opinions when it comes to crime and punishment. I get the feeling she enjoys the outrage as well when metropolitan liberals like Marr lose it so bad they falsely accuse of her laughing.

So much paranoia around at the minute and she's showing here she is more than capable of handling a press conference.

Greater Manchester Police has warned people not to breach lockdown rules over Easter after it had to break up 660 parties during the pandemic.

Colour me a funny shade of pink, but I don't think they were wrong. Hundreds dying every day, still large portions of the public giving zero ****s. On a regular basis we have people on here calling out the chinese government, rightly so, you surely can't then expect the government to head in that direction when people weren't taking this seriously. As much as it sucks, they needed this to get to a point where people would accept restrictions. if anything, I think they pulled the trigger too early. People already struggling being apart from their families, being stuck at home etc etc. If people fall apart just as this heads towards the peak, the hundreds dying now will seem a drop in the ocean.

Time will tell I guess.

It's just sad that grown arse adults have to be told what to do, how to behave and yet they still can't follow the rules (the disobedient tossers).

I recognize those with varying mental or medical issues might be having a harder time with being confined etc but i think it impacts us all to some degree. Just got to suck it up and take one for the team. The sooner we try to get over the curve the better. The more twattish people be the longer the rules will be in place and more will unnecessarily die.

Perhaps I'm becoming more cvnty as I age.....I just hate that myself and my family follow the rules and you get these pricks thinking that they can do whatever they want. Should be identified and dealt with after things get back to normal. I wont get into what i'd think is proper punishment as its borderline illegal lol

My girlfriend’s nan, 96, took a fall a few weeks ago and broke her femur. Flew through the op but got COV-ID in hospital and is now in an induced coma until she dies. The two family members looking after her also got it but are recovering. Very sad and very close to home.

Channel 4 blokes a bit of a cock isn’t he.

Didn’t see what he asked but noted last nights C4 bulletin was very ‘headline’ based and some of those headlines were questionable to say the least .....

I'm sure there's more scientifically minded people on here than me. So what are people's thoughts on these stories doing the rounds at the moment about people who've had the TB jab having up to 6 times less chance of being hospitalised for Covid-19?

Is the evidence actually worthwhile or is it just click-bait?

I've read that's one theory for the slower spread in Eastern Europe.

Heard Dianne is scouring the world looking for Ventriloquists to help in this time of need

As if you wouldn't do the same if a Labour politician went missing from public view in a crisis like this lollol

Well, Covid-19 is definitely viral while as far as I know the BCG vaccination defends against bacterial forms of TB only (which makes sense as anti-virals are more difficult to develop and stay effective than anti-bacterial vaccinations) so there shouldn't be much in the way of crossover...but perhaps there is some similarity that has been discovered by luck there.

The Aussies are on about giving the tb jab to health workers to boost their immune systems in a trail.

Is the TB jab the one that you used to get at school when you were 12/13?The big circle thing that left a mark and was pretty painful, even though the boys wouldn’t actually admit that. Not administered since 2005?

Priti Patel getting grilled by a Journalist from Lad Bible, what on earth is 2020

This format just does not work. Horrific that at a time of such major crisis our democracy has a lethal mix of second rate politicians and second rate journalists.

Heard many similar stories. A friend of mine's dad in his late 80s went into hospital for an urgent spinal operation and caught it and is now on a ventilator. It seems so easy to catch it in hospitals where so many old and vulnerable people already are. :(
