Cutting Your Own Hair

Have you tried it yet? I know there's probably a large number of people on FT that shave or close crop their hair with razors or clippers, but I never have. Now I have had to take matters into my own hands so, this morning I stood in front of the bathroom mirror and started snipping away trying to get the hair between my fingers like I've seen my hairdresser do. Generally it went pretty well apart from cutting pieces out of my fingers. It's ok doing the top, and the sides but the back is just guesswork. I think I'll finish up looking like Chris Waddle did in the early 80's.

I needed a haircut leading up to the lockdown.

 

No attachments & clippers set to their lowest.  That was last weekend.

I'm going to get the missus to do it this weekend. I've got a trimmer I'll try to give it a Number 4. If it's crap it's got at least 3 weeks to grow out a bit.

My daughter asked me to trim her hair on Wednesday. It was just above her bottom at the time. It's now just below her shoulders, and I'm still trying to get it even  

 

And before any of you come back with smutty comments, she's 13, OK?

My wife cuts my hair with a trimmer set at 4 about every 3 weeks, not too shabby, simple enough although I’ve not got too much hair to worry about anyway! I think after this lock down is done we will all look alike!

Number 2 is about right for me, have done no.1 but that's a bit short.

I’ve gone full beard feral..first time in my life and I actually quite like it. 
 

And an added bonus is that your hair seems to be less of an issue when you have a beard - shortish and beard is fine, longish and beard is fine. No need for hair to be neat and tidy when you’re beardy ✊

Who needs barbers? It's really easy using one mirror attached to a wall, the other hand-held. Use clippers with a no.3 or 4 attachment. Trim all over against the angle of growth, then tidy up the edges with the clippers minus the attachment, using both mirrors. DIY dentistry is a bit more tricky!

I have a very long history of bad hair so this episode shall be no different. The biggest question for me is whether to grow out the beard I've never had but often wondered about.

Bic’d my head for a year or two now. Purely for the fact hair is at a bit of a premium on top nowadays! Haircuts thankfully is one thing I don’t have to worry about!!

Hairdresser closed the day I had an appointment. The mrs is now threatening to cut it. I’m worried.

I shave my head but I’d not bothered for a while and I caught the sun whilst working outside this week.

well I shaved it today and my face and head are two very different colours. 

So if you see me, I’ll be wearing a cap.

She is the true allrounder, One of my beloved's skills ..Cutting my Hair and trimming my beard...

She always Cut our Childrens hair,even now they have their own children...
