Love Maddison. Love his positive attitude and love him as a player. I'm glad he is signed a new deal.

Great news and a positive statement too. Love Madders, glad he is staying. That boy lives and breathes football.

Thanks lads. Glad it's not just me who thinks this is a great piece of news.

I am majorly concerned that he enjoys his life off the field though. I question the professionalism and commitment of any player caught casually smiling as though it's nothing.

I am concerned about this, not only does it seem like a wage setting deal for a club not in the champions league.

We know how much he enjoys life off the field

If he does not have a good year next season, this is going to look a very niave deal.

It's literally so we don't get rinsed when a Man City or Man U come in for him.

I think he’s exactly the kind of character and mentality we need at the club - hopefully he progresses more next season but he wouldn’t have settled for how we finished this season if he was on the pitch, I think he’d have injected some urgency earlier on and grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck.

This is huge money for a lad that's not had one good full season at this level. Let's hope he shows he's worth it.

Edited to say, I like Maddison as a player, seems to have his head screwed on and is clearly a talented lad. The wage just seems higher than what he should be on to me - the salary will be a huge pressure for him because we can't pay a player that much money and they not be one of our best performers week in week out.

Very True. There is no doubt he's gifted but the gucci bag etc stuff does have me concerned about what could happen if he earns to much money.

I just get flash backs of Ozil getting a big deal for arsenal and then spending the last 3  years missing games due to injuries other things.

Hope this has been done with a big money deal with united or co in mind in a year, so the club gets its moneys worth.

Brilliant news, he is the sort of player we need to be looking down on a long term contract.
We have the core of an outstanding side that can challenge the top 6 year after year, a couple more players locked down, a couple of quality additions and a bit more depth required but this is a great step in the right direction.

If we want to go go the next level then we have to increase our salaries for our top players. We don't want a situation like Spurs and Southampton in the past with their salary caps restricting the growth of their clubs.

Glad we have him tied down for  another season (he will be off next summer like Maguire was)

we need him to be supporting Vardy and not constantly dropping deep and collecting the ball off the CBS....Pointless..

he is doing nothing back there that Ndidi/Youri can not do

Haha lad has a back pack that you don't like and next thing he is the next Ozil.

He deserves the contract and if he goes next season it will protect us as a club.

Hope you never go down to the stadium on match day, you would have a fit walking past the players parking when you see the cars they drive

Big money that. Fair play he is a good player and it gives us some bargaining power should anybody come sniffing round him. Tell you what it’s been good to see him in the stands at matches recently, he’s been celebrating like a fan when we’ve won and looking gutted like a fan when we’ve lost. He’s a good lad I reckon I don’t buy some of the shit that gets spouted about him.

I think he’s a great lad don’t have any issue with the rubbish that gets said about him, just think now is the time for him to really step up. He’s been bang average and ineffective vast majority of the season in my opinion. Time to start hitting those big figures for goals and assists because he’s clearly got the talent to do so!

It says what it does on the tin, this is a lad who when he was unable to play for england went to a casino.

Look no doubting his commitment while on the field, but its hardly news to say he enjoys himself off it is it. I am concerned on a bigger wage if he gets to comfortable. I remember david  bentley once he got his money struggling to maintain motivation he admitted it himself.
