NasPb Posted 5 September 2020 Posted 5 September 2020 (edited) Could he be a 4th option cb for us? Edited 5 September 2020 by NasPb 1
Popular Post dmayne7 Posted 5 September 2020 Popular Post Posted 5 September 2020 Didn't look bad?! Constantly gave the ball away in dangerous positions. Don't let a scrappy goal mask that fact. Not surprised as he's going to be beyond rusty after a couple of years out so not writing him off but if you're plucking for DA over Knight based on today's performance you can't be doing that with any semblance of objectivity. 4 1
Sly Posted 5 September 2020 Posted 5 September 2020 He looked like a person that hadn’t played in 2 years from where I was sitting!! 1
Ric Flair Posted 5 September 2020 Posted 5 September 2020 Not once played at CB for us under 3 different managers, doubt Rodgers will resort to that and after 2 years out injured but if he does then it shows what a sorry state of affairs our availability must be like. 1
Popular Post Webbo Posted 5 September 2020 Popular Post Posted 5 September 2020 I don't care what anyone says, he's had good games in the past, and been very decent in others. If he recovers his form he'll be a useful squad member this season. 24
Lambert09 Posted 5 September 2020 Posted 5 September 2020 It’s funny how a goal blurs peoples vision of a performance 1

There was a time at the beginning of 16/17 where we thought he was the new Kante and there was a period (before his injury) when he played right back ahead of Ricardo and he was solid there too. 5 1

Popular Post SouthStandUpperTier Posted 5 September 2020 Popular Post Posted 5 September 2020 First time seen on the KP pitch since his foot was facing the wrong way. Did anyone seriously expect him not to be a little rusty? 23

He'd be useful in a back 3, but so will James Justin. Need a left footed centre half and we've plenty of options then for 4 competitions.

The new Kante? He might of had the odd good game but I think thats a step too far. He was played ahead of RP before his injury to allow the flexibility of Puel changing to 3 at the back like how he started the Arsenal game. Decent utility player to have on the Bench, but for a team finishing 5 last year we really need to push on. Edited 5 September 2020 by HankMarvin
majaco Posted 5 September 2020 Posted 5 September 2020 It is so unlikely he will return at a high level. It was great to see him on the pitch. I liked him as a player before his injury (despite the fact that he was a forum scapegoat). It would be magnificent if he did come back but I think Castagne's signing confirms that he will not have a place in the 25 1
Vindaloo FOX Posted 5 September 2020 Posted 5 September 2020 Get him out on loan, need to put him in the shop window so we can sell him.

That Arsenal game was a very good performance until Puel thought it a good idea to change shape to 4atb using two subs, but only made one to start with. Arsenal fans still share the video of the second goal as though it was some kind of tiki-taka masterclass, when in actual fact Puel had just told Albrighton to play in the middle for five minutes while we waited for the second sub (Ghezzal?) to get ready!
Dr The Singh Posted 5 September 2020 Posted 5 September 2020 @Col city fan we both knew we need him, and today we need him big time
Clever Fox Posted 5 September 2020 Posted 5 September 2020 It's great to see him take the field again. Done ok, gave the ball away a few times but tht;s to be expected when you haven't played for two years. Loved the way he didn't dive in when he came across to cover for Knight after Knight gave the Ball away and just dealt with the situation nicely. The Goal was a nice bonus when we were looking clueless. It's funny how life throws you a little bonus when things have not been going your way. 3
Ian Nacho Posted 5 September 2020 Posted 5 September 2020 I know he’s had a long absence but I thought he looked absolutely bobbins.
1972 Fox Posted 5 September 2020 Posted 5 September 2020 Good to see him back on the pitch for the sake of his career. But I never thought he was good enough before his injury let alone now after two years out. Don't think he'll feature for us unless it's a low level game. Hopefully we can move him on and I would hope he can have a decent career elsewhere.

dannythefox Posted 5 September 2020 Posted 5 September 2020 I really hope he’s in the squad this season with KDH. It’s really two new players but it still not our answer to a winger and a striker.

Tuna Posted 5 September 2020 Posted 5 September 2020 Decent option to have in the squad if he can get back to fitness.
